My dad is an old school person who keeps saying we are a spoiled fan base and that miles should be here as long as he wants because he won a national title and continues to win 8-10 games. He says the basis of this belief is that after all the drama after hallman, he would never take this for granted?

My question is, do you recognize the decline and what is the ideal outcome of this scenario?

Bonus question, Do you honestly believe we are the same program we were after hallman?

The 2 situations are non-comparable.

Les keeps getting top 10 and sometimes the best of all recruiting classes. After Stovall was fired, Bill Arnsparger climbed aboard to enjoy 3 years of success with those players. Meanwhile, he never recruited. By the time Archer got into the middle of his career here, no 5 star recuits = no wins.

Hallman may have been bad but he took the reins in '91 with absolute garbage of a team where Todd Kinchen was by far the greatest player. We are NOT even close to allowing ourselves to be categorized.

Things may fall apart with Les, but not for the same reasons that the Hallman years happened. That was all Bob Broadhead and Bill Arnspager's inability to do anything outside of coaching defense.

No comparison. We are much better off now.

So your old man gives you advice, no, pearls of wisdom, and you come to retardville for a second opinion?

Yes, LSU fans are spoiled and delusional. That fact is well established.

Ideal outcome?
Miles retires when, and only when, the program is in GUARANTEED capable hands. Call it a coach in waiting, if need be...and this happens soon.

There's a bit of a decline, and it's easily fixed. OC with control. Even the media talking heads who say Miles deserves a other year also say he's got to change the offense. If there aren't offensive changes, he can be shitcanned with no negative press.

And yes, the 90s sucked arse. Season tickets since Hallman. I went to every game until Ole Miss 97 when I moved out of state. Success is never taken for granted here, and neither is National tv exposure. LSU is on tv nearly every week now, regardless of opponent. Bama isnt. Miles did that.

Is it because of unpredictability, and the fact that we might get upset? Sure!
