I think most LSU fans would because it's an in-state school.

I used to support USL because of their in-state status.

That was until the 2000 CWS where LSU fans, including me, were cheering for the swamp people in USL's first game of the series.

Later that day LSU played its first game and the USL fans were rabid in their support of LSU's opponent.

That did it for me.

If ULL played Iran, I would hope the Persians would win....

You are in the minority of lsu baseball fans then. My parents have had season tickets to lsu baseball for over 30 years and not once do I remember them cheering for usl, in fact the majority of the people cheered against them. I have no problem with that. I cheer for the cajuns and no one else and I don't go looking for other schools to give them "respect." I find that seeking validation from other teams fans to be ridiculous.

Do you blame them? I wouldn't want to play us either.

Not at the 2009 CWS. The LSU fans there were very loudly cheering for USL during their first game. The K Lady was even holding up K's when the USL pitcher struck out a batter.

I admired the USL players for their scrappiness but their fans were POS.

I agree that like most schools we have a select group of fans that give the rest of us a bad name. I personally do not cheer for or against lsu when they play, I simply watch the game as neutral observer

Tell her not to do that shite again. Please keep her and Guillot strictly cheering for LSU.

I pull ULL everytime they are not playing LSU,in any sport. They're from Louisiana, most of the atheletes are from this state. I bet a good chunk of LSU fans are related to an athelete of ULL or a fan of ULL. They're family for goodness sake.

As someone who grew up in Lafayette, all the way thru highschool & then going back for professional reasons post graduation, I've tried to support SLI/USL/ULLLL as well as LSU, but there's a hard core group of USL fans who hate LSU with a passion that is beyond belief. Working out at Red's, eating out, with mabe a LSU hat on, and I'd get stares & hear the whispers like no one here would believe . So, I gave up my dual support & only support the Tigers now. For LSU fans, USL is not even a blimp on the sports radar except once a yr when this kind of shite starts.
