Question about the LSU softball team

Why do they still do the "crazy for pitching to me" hand gesture around the head? They got it from the baseball team and that was almost three years ago. Can't they find something new?
Also, what's the deal with the dugout shenanigans? Don't say they are just having fun because everyone knows if it was a baseball team acting like that, they'd be a joke.

IIRC, in the offseason they were told they'd have to tone it down this season with the dugout shenanigans, but I believe that was specifically about all the props and masks they had. Haven't watched enough this year to notice if anything is different.
