Question about coach O?

With USCw possibly getting rid of their head coach, do they make a play for coach O? Do you think he would go back if offered after the season?

Days of chasing Carroll's shadow are over.

Their AD didn't give him a shot when they hired Sark (Ed O was interim coach at the time). Why would he now ?

Once his son Parker walks on at LSU I don't think he leaves for anything. Just my opinion though.

The reason I ask was because I was listening to Westwood one radio and the local host in L.A. brought his name up on the show. Everyone on the show had nothing but great things to say about coach O.

Don't forget that he did not coach their bowl game because he quit when he was informed he would not get their head coaching job despite leading them to said bowl game. I would be shocked if he took the job if offered. USC screwed up bad passing on him.

The Trojenz tried to make him the highest paid Assistant Coach out there. Since they didn't even give him an interview then why would they now? Fan base there loved him but he doesn't fit the tinsel town glam type they are after.

For better or worse, this is correct. He would never get a shot there for no reason other than his image and how his voice sounds. It's sad really.

Oh well, our gain is their loss.

Just something to chew on: the AD who did not hire him full time, Hayden, may well be fired. But to think Coach O would not return as the HC is foolish. He very much wants to be one again, especially at USC who he's repeatedly said is his all time #2 favorite team in college football; LSU being #1.

USC will probably go after a bigger name first

The LA Times is calling for Hayden's head. After bringing in Lane Kiffin with all of his baggage and then not vetting Sarkisian because he was a Trojan-insider, suspect the Times has got this one right and USC will be trying to go in a different direction.
Chris Peterson [Boise State - now UW coach] was in the running for the USC job, but pulled his name out of that mess once he heard Sarkisian was on the short list. Seems Peterson saw UW as a better place for his circumstances [which includes a special needs child who I certainly wouldn't subject to "tensiltown"].
If the LSU administration appreciates what Coach O is doing for the program, it seems they'll do whatever they can to enhance his circumstances so that he stays. The big question is, of course, will doing "whatever they can" be enough?
