Question About Bball Team

Not coming here to bash JJ, I believe he has done a good job with his first few years. He has brought in more talent then Trent could have shaken hands with.
Questions...
Do we teach to put a body on someone down low? Do we do box out drills in practice? When we rebound it is a jumping contest you never see someone get there arse into somebody and move them out the paint and go get the ball. Am I just am old guy and this isn't taught in basketball anymore? Are we suppose to just depend on athleticism? This is a serious question...not being a smartass.
Also, I haven't seen a single guard play help side defense. When the ball gets swung you never see anyone sprint to help. All of them come out of there stance and sorta jog to a deny spot. I don't see any guards keeping there head on a swivel and playing help side defense. Honest question, is this just not taught anymore?
It is obvious that JJ wants to get into an up tempo game, everyone leaks out before rebounding. Is this something that is taught? You can watch several times in the last two games where a long shot goes up and immediately 3 guards take off. This leaves us with two guys trying to box out 4 guys.
Lastly, why don't we press the whole game? We have the depth at guard to do it.
Sorry for all the dumb questions, I just fee out of the loop on the new era coaching. I think this team is going to be fine. We have some guys that can score in a hurry and I think Benny finds his true "role" on the team after a few more games. He has to realize he will have to keep the ball in his hands a little more often to be successful.

We do need to improve boxing out.
As usual we desperately need that 7 footer but it is what it is. The one thing above all else would be to get FT shooting up around 80 percent. If you make 8-10 at the line these type games become W. Both of these would be a W.
By the way- JJ teams have sucked at the line. i would make them shoot 1000 of them to the point they would want to get it right to get coach off their butt about it.

Yes, FTs are a glaring problem as well. FTs are all about routine, which I agree they need to shoot more of them in practice. FTs can also become a big mental this as well. However I don't think that is the problem with our team. I think we are young and don't always get up there and concentrate, we are runnin and gunnin and not worried about single possessions.
