As any golfer knows if one focuses on the possible trouble (water hazard on the left or ob on the right) the golfer significantly increases the possibility of hitting the shot into that trouble.

If instead he focuses preshot on positive thoughts preshot ( nice smooth swing, five feet left of the flag) the chances of hitting a good shot are greatly enhanced!

Throwing the football is no different.

If the QBs thought process focuses on:

don't throw an interception!
rather relaxing and making a confident throw the chance of a poor throw\ negative result is greatly increased.

Our QBs are, unfortunately, constantly coached:
Don't make a mistake!
Don't throw an interception!

Rather than:

See your target
Trust your natural athletic ability
Let it rip!

That's why we can't develop our QBs and they seem to get worse not better!

I'm just sayin....
