Whom did I trash. I'm defending the players. They were elite talents when they came here, but have gotten progressively worse in many cases. That is a coaching problem. Pure and simple.
And I've always had a lot of respect for Coach Miles. I like the way he runs this program. But as a CEO coach, he needs good coordinators. Crowton is the weakest fricking link I've ever seen retained at a top-tier program.

eta: along with JJ starting every game next season, i wouldn't be the least surprised if les said that gary would remain as the OC.

that LSU just happened to recruit the most inept 5-star and (2) 4-star QBs in the history of D-1 sports. All of these guys came here knowing how to do some kind of quarterbacking. Now JJ looks like he'd have trouble hanging on to his starting spot a Destrahan, Lee remains terribly inconsistent, and we're told that Shepard simply can't learn the playbook and/or throw the ball. How the hell do other programs get at least average play out of 3-star guys throwing to 2 and 3-star receivers.
We clearly have an offensive problem--not just a QB problem. And it goes back to the coaching, the scheme, and the player development. Lee showed us a little bit earlier this season, but over the last two weeks he's now looked just like the old Lee--minus the long bombs and pick 6s.
We won't fix this with a change at QB. Not Lee, not JJ, not Shep, not Zach Mettenberger. Crowton will frick him up, too.
Our problems run deep. Hell, the receivers are regressing.
Which all boils down to coaching, and why I have even less and less confidence in Miles and the direction he's taking this team regardless of the W/L column even. It's a general slide downward that I see in almost all phases, and you're right Navytiger. THAT IS COACHING or the lack thereof.

Is this sarcasm, or do you really not know that the head coach can overrule anyone on his team?
The OP said it well, and Miles coulve canned Crowton after last year so it falls on him too.

Had Tennessee not given us the game, this thread wouldn't exist. And we'd be looking at another 500 sec season.
It's obvious what's going on here. The team is coached down, not up. In the last three years we've had arguably the worse defense and worse offense in recent history.
