Sure we have the facilities and we are the only P5 program in the state that bleeds purple and gold, but one position where the state of Louisiana has a shortage of talent is QB.

Look at our QBs in the Saban-Miles era:
Rohan Davey (Jamaica, Florida)
Matt Mauck (Indiana)
Marcus Randall (Baton Rouge, but should not have played QB in the SEC).
JaMarcus Russell (Alabama)
Matt Flynn (Texas)
Ryan Perriloux (Louisiana, Was it worth recruiting him?)
Jarrett Lee (Texas)
Jordan Jefferson (New Orleans, but should not have played QB in the SEC).
Zach Mettenberger (Georgia, via JUCO)
Anthony Jennings (Georgia)
Brandon Harris (Louisiana, genuine talent wasted).

Apart from Dak Prescott, had any Louisiana kid gone elsewhere and really been successful.
So if you take MR, JJ, BH, RP and Dak that is just 5 QBs in the state of Louisiana capable of starting in a P5 college.

Honestly do you blame Les and the co-coordinators, they just did not have the QBs to run the offense. Canada comes in and is running the same stuff. The only difference is the gimmicky shifts which fool no one.

I disagree with you on Jordan Jefferson he won a lot of games at the QB position might not have been pretty but he won a lot of games .

FWIW Jefferson is tied for 6th all time in passing TDs (in LSU history) and beat Bama twice over his career, I'm not on the Jefferson bandwagon by any means, I'm still pissed we didn't put lee in the 2012 NC when it was clear we would lose with Jefferson.

Just saying as sad as it is to some of y'all JJ is better than these scrubs we've had ever since Zach Mettenberger left.

Not sure if you meant starting at LSU or simply any P5 college, but Shea Patterson was a Shreveport kid prior to his one year at IMG, and I feel like he's a pretty damn good QB...also, Cole Kelley from Teurlings in the 2016 class is the backup at Arkansas mainly due to Allen being a senior this year. I imagine he will be the starter next year and was rated higher than L. Scott from Zachary in the same class...

Brock Berlin at Miami.

Also, it's pretty well known that QB development at the HS level isn't this states strong suit.

I wouldn't call Canada's offensive philosophy "gimmicky".

Be on the lookout for Keytaon Thompson in the future:

The Manning may have something to say about that. 4 SB rings between the 2.
