How quickly people forget just two years ago Harris coming in and nearly getting LSU a W against MSU followed by he New Mexico State game where he came in following an atrocious quarter and some by Jennings.

Harriz comes in during the second quarter on and leads LSU to 7 straight TD drives, going 11/14 for 178 yards and 3 tds passing to go with 35 yards amnd 2 rushing tds.

Then the Auburn game happened. Etling only played well as a passer for 1 quarter and people are annointing him the next Mettenberger. Guy looked great and mediocre and please stop making it seem like Etling played like this against a legit team. It was an FCS team.

A pretty damn good fcs team with like 5 sec transfers and a damn good offense. Qb rb and several damn good wr's. Etling will have his shot to lock in the starting job this sat.

Complete a pass to a tight end in this offense and as far as I'm concerned you're the second coming of Marcus Mariotta.

Don't you pump the brakes when you are changing the brake fluid or in the days before antilock brakes to stop them from locking up? Don't you mean tap the breaks?

Idgaf what brandon harris dI'd against those teams from years past. Danny etling is not brandon harris. Your logic is flawed. I maintain hope that etling will continue to improve. I'm actually anxious to see what he does next Saturday bc I feel like he's going to do fine. Let's see what happens, I agree, but dont say i shouldnt be optimistic about etlings future because of harris' disappointing starts after playing well his first time around. They are two different players and etling is his own man. Personally I am encouraged by the outing that etling had and I believe he is going to improve and get more comfortable. Geaux tigers.

He is smarter than Mettenberger and he can move.

I think the main theme here is that if you can't get it done vs a FCS defense, how would you ever think you can get it done vs an SEC defense?

I think people are just glad we are moving in the right direction.

People are just excited that Etling can complete a forward pass.

Say what you will about Jacksonville State. They're a solid club and played in their championship game last season.

I'm not anointing Etling the next Flynn or Mett but it was encouraging to see him play with confidence, has a good touch on his passes.....

I'm cautiously optimistic with Miles but with that being said, I do give him credit for making a change at QB. I honestly didn't think it would matter but I was wrong saying that.

The entire team seemed to feed off it.

The offensive line still needs improvement though.

He was confident in running the offense. He brought leadership on the field. Harris just don't have it. I like Harris, but not sold on him as a QB. I would say Etling looked good running the offense in the 2nd qtr and ok in the 2nd half. This was is first live action with all the pressure on him. I think he handled it well.

Harris, Mett, and Etling. All are good Tigers but only one came into the game last night and moved himself and the other Tigers down the field.

Three times in a row.

Not saying Etling isnt better the Harris, but the point was we were saying the same things about Harris after a better performance againsr a better team just two years ago.

Jacksonville State is a good FCS team but they are still FCS and dont have near the talent LSU has nor any other opponent on the schedule.

With all that said, he did some nice things.

Yes he did. He needs to improve on some things but he sure did look comfortable. I liked how he played overall.

You know that Harris was a true freshman and on the road, right?
