Couldn't ask for more than we saw last night.

Not a lot needs to be said about the D. Aranda is the GOAT. Period. Already known. Lots of young fast talent for him to work with. Obviously not a great team we played but we will continue to improve and this is going to be a very good defense.

Welcome aboard Air Canada!!

Loved seeing Etling operate so efficiently. Exactly what we've always said we needed at the QB position.

The WRs were outstanding given how little experience they had coming in. Made plays and not a single mistake I can recall.

The OL looked great. Of course that was far from an SEC front seven, but they handled the task at hand. Once the penalties are cleaned up from learning this new system this will be a very imposing front.

And seeing DW and CEH add a complimentary change up to Guice was key as well. He isn't built to take 25-30 carries a game with how aggressively he runs.

Need those two to be capable of splitting the load imo. Guice takes half and they split the rest between them, probably 35/15 percent each. If they can do that with keeping our YPC near 5 we should be very difficult to stop. Glad to see the talk about DW getting into great shape was legit. He looks like he really put in work.

Props all around. Great start to the season.

ETA: That Bama O is nothing special. Aranda will shut them down again.

If Canada can get us to double digits this may very well be the year to catch them reloading.

I agree on everything except the oline. That unit needs to get better. Too many penalties and not much push off the ball

Offense was crisp. Really like the execution of the 5-10 yard passes. Something we just haven't seen in awhile. Yes the offense was sort of vanilla but why show everything against a team you're steam rolling?

Many here will not like this positivity, but I do.

Coach O is a lot better coach compared to Miles. I will thoroughly enjoy following LSU in the upcoming years, despite the chagrin of some former Miles' homers.

We were pretty good on third down not in the red zone as well. That out route to dillon(?) under the zone coverage worked like a charm atleast twice

Agreed, with the asterisk we're starting freshmen against a very large (but not quick) DL that was also a top-10 last year. I'd also say we could've expected more out of the passing game, if just for live reps. However, that doesn't have to, and probably shouldn't, come from this game.

In short I like the trajectory and love the foundation. In the Les era I would have expected them to be just as satisfied and this would now be the template forever and ever.

With this staff I'm expecting the opposite. This isn't success, this is the starting point to success... that is the feeling I have with this staff.

First game's come and gone and you're still talking about Miles. You have a problem.

Just like you haven't stopped complaining yet about that loser being finally fired.

Team looked solid last night. Special teams needs a little work. Penalties hurt some, but the first game with a new system, it's understandable. Ethling looked very good and you can't say enough about the defense.

Fantastic team win!

We can thank our lucky stars he was fired unjustly from Ole Miss after his third season. He would have started winning big there his fourth year and more than likely would still be there to this day.

And like the other poster said, Miles has been gone just under a year. Let it go. You do seem to have a problem.

As someone who is skeptical of the Orgeron hire, I thought the team looked well coached last night, with some hiccups from Special Teams and OL. Defense was awesome, particularly with all the subs and Freshmen.
It's just a first game, and we'll know more after next week and when we play State.

The team looked well coached and prepared last night. You have to give credit when credit is due.

Miles would have loved for his offense to look this crisp in any opener. Stayed vanilla and run heavy, but consistently moved the ball down the field, mostly taking two downs to get a first, and third downs were almost always 3rd and short.

We even moved the ball well in goalline situations, we just couldn't punch it in from around the two.

That'll be fixed. It must kill Miles to see this. Could have easily been 44-0, but 27-0 is nothing to sneeze at either. We had some penalties, but those two holding calls were ticky tack.
