wasn't Skip Bertman the name of the guy that hired Nick Saban?

No. Skip was still head baseball coach then.

Joe Dean via Mark Emmert hired Saban.

By Jim Hawthorne?

My grandmother's generation in LA pronounced every Alex as Elec. I have a nephew whose name is Alex and everyone in that generation from LA calls him Elec. It drives him and his parents nuts.

You honestly feel a street that the stadium isn't even on anymore is a good enough memorial to the guy who won 5 titles for LSU in baseball? Think about that. FIVE frickIN COLLEGE WORLD SERIES TITLEs in 10 YEARS

Just out of curiosity, which do you see as a greater accomplishment. Being a war hero or winning 5 titles?

It's "Alex" I don't give a shite how the dude pronounced his name. The fact of the matter is its spelled with an X not a C, and until its spelled with a C, I will pronounce it with an X
