And it isn't necessarily "dropping" them. He doesn't do a great job of fighting for them and not letting them be knocked out.

yeah i hope this is jsut an example of him reading his press clippings and he puts more focus on working on his game

if that's the problem, it's easily corrected

Pro is right, LSU does not run routes that will cause mismatches in the secondary. It is seams, slants and go routes. Couple that with poor tackle play and you have the same shite we saw last year.

our WRs can't catch slants but you want them to run go routes?

Another thing I saw last night on 2 occasions is catching the ball on 3rd and 6, and spinning/running backwards to make their man miss but not evading the tackle. So what would have been a first down turns into 4th and 1 now.

Ummm Boone has been the best WR so far.

He's been the best one I've seen so far. The catch he made where Mett threw it to him like a bullet was a catch none of the other guys make. Hell they can't catch it throwed right to their hands.

Bump for evening whiners... Huge problem in our offense, and likely reason for limited variety in play calling.

OBJ needs to stop jumping for the ball so dang much. Stuff is annoying

Wright's a possession WR who catches 50% of the passes thrown his way.

Maybe Travin Dural could have contributed, but his injury forced a red-shirt. He is listed as 6'2".

Can't argue with that.

Then you adjust your offense to your talent. ULM had a 5-10 guys running wide the frick open all day against Auburn.
So ULM has better WRs, OTs, and coaches than LSU? So frustrating last night.

It looked like obj was open every time we ran him deep..... need to take advantage of that

OBJ needs to catch the ball.....plain and simple

once again that on the unimaginative play calling.

OBJ still the best. Got to get the drops down thou. Landry is coming around and my favorite player to watch. He is so physical and aggressive for his size. A great player and will be a superstar

The WRs will be fine. They just need to concentrate on catching the ball. Too many times they are paying attention to the guy guarding them. All are fairly young and will get better.

Right now Boone has been our most consistent receiver and should get more throws imo. That said, OBJ, Landry, and Wright should still be targeted as all three have tremendous talent.

The problem is that all of our starters at WR are seemingly built to be slot WRs. I said it on the Score Board last night, but our two best WRs are Boone and Wright, and Boone is easily our best route runner in my opinion. They should be our starting two. We have to find a consistent set of hands before we dive back into SEC play.

Note: I am acknowledging we also have o-line issues, but as for play calling, if our WRs that we have starting would catch the long balls we do throw, nobody would be bitching about it and we probably score 2-3 more TDs against Auburn.

The problem with our receiving corp is that we are a run first team. the uses of WR are not needed, we rather jumbo pack and maybe two main WR and two backs up for them and that's it.

OBJ definitely had an off night. He usually catches anything that's thrown to him.

Boone/Wright both look good.

It was an off night and we won.

Stay away from the panic button.
