The commentator for the Syracuse game was calling it this... WTF is a toss pitch?

Correct term for the play they run is power toss. Power- for the blocking scheme they run (kick with the fullback, and wrap with the backside guard and if roles were reversed it would be counter toss). Toss- obvious since the QB reverses out and "tosses" the ball to the RB. A pitch is usually a flip of the wrist, example would be option plays.

BTW they don't always run it with the power blocking scheme.. Same backfield action but occasionaly they'll zone block it up front and "plus" the FB into a designated gap..

Sorry for the rant but the toss pitch bullshite was bothering me... Commentators are terrible
