Gridironnow

I've been curious in what direction O will go and there has been more silence than expected.

Tommie Robinson, running back coach, USC

Michael Smith, wide receivers coach, Arkansas

David Johnson, wide receivers coach, Memphis

Mickey Joseph, running backs coach, Louisiana Tech

Darrell Wyatt, wide receivers coach, Houston

Don't know much about these guys other than I've heard their names mentioned. To me we need 1 guy that can nail down North LA and 1 guy that can nail down New Orleans. Other plus would be ties to Houston/ SE TX. With equal importance is someone that can actually coach the position. How do each of these stack up? What is their recruiting area specialty and how do they grade out as a coach of a given position?

The RB and ST coach at Pitt is not on the list?

He seems like a great fit for the program.

Looks like Mickey Joseph is a strong possibility for one position

I really hope 2 of the 3 are national recruiters and one guy with Nola roots.

I'd much rather we target elite national recruiters who can recruit anywhere, but that's just me

Guys. There are only going to be two hires. We only have 2 positions to fill, unless Ensminger gets reassigned.

Agree. I also like the idea that we are going after coaches that are versatile. It would be cool to have a coach that can, if needed, coach RB/WR/ST on any given day...

Special Teams, Running Backs and Wide Receivers. That's three coaching spots.

Special teams has never been a stand-alone position. Peveto coached it along with ILB.

There is a chance a 10th spot gets added by the NCAA, but that won't be known until the spring.
