Sorry if this idea has already been thrown out, but with the constant questioning and bitching about fans leaving early I haven't seen much regarding solutions. IMO, the fact that we need to do something is ridiculous, but we all know what the current culture has become.

Student Priority Points are like gold when it comes to obtaining and maintaining student tickets. All the students (at least back in the day) would go out of their way to go to other sporting events to swipe their ID just to raise their status for the following Fall. Currentlly, 20 points are awarded for home football games compared to 3 for baseball/softball, basketball and gymnastics and 1 point for all other sports. To keep students from just swiping and leaving for some of the other sports, they sometimes offered bonus points for staying late. I propose that students should be awarded no points for swiping when they arrive to football games, and all 20 points are awarded when swiped with 0:00 on the clock.

Similarly, doing something with TAF priority points for season ticket holders may help as well (with the exception that typically one TAF name/number is tied to multiple tickets).

Because after the game, I'm eager to get out the stadium an extra hour later because I have to stand in line to get my ID swiped again (I personally don't go to LSU, but have used student tickets/IDs before... and yes I stay till the end)

And the ones that leave early are generally the ones that go and take pictures to show social media that they're cool. They don't usually yell and cheer. So it's dead weight anyways

No doubt, but the fact is - they are.

What is this, 2012? Look I do my thing and stay through the whole game and feel like garbage afterwards but that's me. But I don't expect 20,000ish college aged kids to stick through a 35 point win over a CUSA team.

I wonder how many students actually stayed at the volleyball, soccer, gymnastics meets? I would always swipe my card and immediately turn around to leave.

Back in the day it was a badge of honor to be apart of the greatest student section in the country....

Now they can't even make a cheer without curse words....

I remember camping out to get into basketball games, staying and singing the alma mater after FB games, etc. Make it an efficient system to get people out, but back in the day (when bowl/National Championship tickets were on the line) I would stay 3 hours after if I needed to in order to get the bonus points. This is further solidifying the point of current students being entitled pussies and would keep the social event "selfie and leave" crowd from getting tickets in the future

I dont understand it either, but this is what their culture has become. Show up, take pictures, prove that you where "There" and then disappear and do whatever the hell they want. School spirit or standing with your team doesnt mean shite to these kids.

Students shouldn't be able to get season tickets. They should be on a game by game basis and if they swipe out early they don't get points and move to the bottom of the list for the next home game.

Too many students go to the game for this to work. It would take forever to scan all those tickets and I'd after the game

I was a student from '88-93.

- They banned Tiger Rag because the students would say, "Hahahahaha... a-hole, a-hole."
- The first down chant ended with "kick their arse" instead of "LSU" (which I didn't know was the correct thing until I had graduated)
- When we played Florida State, the student section would chant "ho-mo-sexual" with the FSU band. They were also referred to as the "Semen-holes", although I don't recall that being part of a chant

There are probably many more, but the point is that this isn't new.

STTDB is worse than any I remember, but it's within the margin of error.
