Positives and Negatives of the LSU Spring game

For those who did not see the spring game, hopefully this will give you a good overall picture all in one thread.
Positives:
1. Both QB's looked much more comfortable with the offense and the plays calls. There was not a single blown play offensively and I don't recall a false start.
2. Cam Cameron seemed to adapt to the skills of his QB's as we saw much more Shotgun than we saw last season.
3. The Offensive Line will be a very good unit for LSU this season. Hawkins played well at LT which was good to see.
4. The Tight Ends were much more involved in the offense which helped get the QB's in a zone early. This is a bit reflective of point #2. A very well called scrimmage.
5. The Wide Receiver group was quite impressive and caught everything with their hands. The ball was spread around well and I only recall one drop.
6. The Running Backs look to be in great shape figuratively and literally. Fournette and Williams both looked physically impressive and both ran well. David Ducre runs incredibly hard.
7. The Defensive Line was stout against the run for the most part and rotated well. They also pressured well, especially against the purple offense. I'm looking forward to seeing what Orgeron does with this group.
8. Beckwith is an absolute monster. Debo Jones played well and was very fast to the ball.
9. This Secondary is very very scary. Great coverage from the corners and safeties. Kevin Toliver showed why he was so highly recruited, he looked the part today. Ed paris played well too and will likely start.
10. NO MAJOR INJURIES! I know this may sound like a given but avoiding the injury bug is a luxury.
Negatives
1. The entire second team showed why they are the second team. However it wasn't a true second team as there were quite a few back ups rotating in on first team. The second team today had quite a few walk on's playing so it's not a huge deal.
2. I believe Colby missed a FG. I'm not worried however, there just weren't a whole lot of negatives to pick from.
3. I didn't see much of Lamar Louis or Clifton Garrett as far as playmaking goes. We will need Garrett especially if anything happens to Beckwith.
All in All
1. LSU's first teams looked really good on both sides of the ball and if LSU's QBs can function the offense like they did today, we will win a lot of games. Lots to build on in the summer.

I could have sworn I saw him in the game late.

I feel like this statement is made every single preseason...for years now.

There was one but it was bullshite. DL jumped, guard reached out to touch him/draw offside call, ref called on offense.
Everything else, spot on.

Hard to argue with any of that.

Thanks bro. I didn't wanna paint it too pretty because I wanted it to be authentic but I honestly really liked what I saw out there today.

Harris did have a couple series at the end of the game when playing for Purple where he burned 2 timeouts before he could get the play off. Not sure what happened with the first but the 2nd time, it looked like he was having trouble getting the play called and the play clock ran down on him.

Thanks, brotha. Got called into work today and couldn't see it. Glad to hear good things. Hopefully we're building up to something special with the talent we have on this roster.

There were two that I saw. One, Dodd false started the snap and the second was late on lineman fliching. Not bad with all the switching going on.

Thanks so much for the recap! Sounds like we have a lot of good things to build on for the fall.

If LSU builds on this spring, which the results of the game today lead me to believe that Miles wasn't kidding when he said it was a great spring, by the time the fall comes around LSU will be competing for the West again.

Colby's miss was due to an awful snap.

All qbs looked all sec going against the 2s......primarily number 39....when they went against the 1's not impressive....so I don't know what to think.......I know dural, Dupree and chark are going to be monsters......number 9 and Quinn need to step it up to stay in packages.....that freshman johnson is on his way in the fall
