QB: Quarterbacks tend to improve from their first year to second year starting. Cam has only had one QB two years in a row and Mettenberger improved drastically.

Improve

RB: LF and Guice are one year stronger and will be even better.

Improve

WR: New WR coach and a plethora of talent. Add in the extremely talented freshmen and QB improvement.

Improve

Oline: This is a question mark to me whether they improve or not. We need a little improvement to help Harris and LF.

Slight Improve

Dline: Moving to a 3-4 is hard to compare to the previous year but our Dline will be very good. Having Valentine and the freshmen come in to provide depth is huge.

LB's: Moving to a 3-4 makes LB's a guaranteed improvement. Beckwith, Neal, and Key are going to be insane. Freshman will provide great depth here too

DBs: Bringing back White was huge. We return 3/4 DB's which means they will be even better.

Improve

Special teams: No clue

Coaching: Improved due to Aranda and HOPEFULLY Cam opening the offense

The only groups I can see maybe standing pat or going slightly backwards are O-line and linebacker. That's based strictly on roster turnover. I have faith in our position coaches though.

We will see this in the first few games if les lets Harris get some reps throwing the ball. Teams will continue to put 9-10 guys in box playing the run. The question is will Les let harris develop timing with the receivers in game situations. He hasnt done it in the last few years but with a hot fire under his butt i hope he does.

LB will be better because Key and Neal are better than the OLB's we had last year

I always find the hypocrisy with the QB situation pretty comical. In one breath people say Miles doesn't take the reigns off and let the QBs sling it, and in the very next sentence people will shite on the actual QB themselves. Either Harris can or cannot throw the football efficiently. If he can, they'll let him. If he can't, they'll keep things conservative. Pretty straight forward IMO.

To me defense is a question mark with the new scheme being implemented.

This is where you miss the point . If harris throws a pic against central michigan miles then goes conservative and he hands the ball of the rest of the game. Why not let him work on the mental part and figure it out by continuing to throw in these types of games. So in the Big games he might have this stuff figured out instead of shitting the bed when we have to throw to stay in the game or keep the defense of balance.

We need oline improvement, they disappeared in November

Harris needs dramatic improvement in decision making. Making the right read in either passing or running situations and getting the ball out earlier

How does he make the right read in a running situation?

I do find it funny when the Qb's line up and the defense has 10 guys on the line and they make what looks like an audible then they hand it off to LF right up the middle

Keehn wasn't bad. Not consistent, but still had a solid average for his career. Our problem was punt and kick coverage.

And wr, i don't know. Our wrs have been very underwhelming since Landry and Beckham. And even they were only good for one season. Yeah we get talent there, but dural coming off injury, could lose his best asset, his speed. Dupre is good, bit not complete yet.

Yes I know, qb play. Go watch eastern Michigan. Our wrs looked like complete shite.

This year it will be Jacksonville State. This is a game where Miles could have harris pass most of the first half just to see if the kid can sling it and find the receivers that can catch it. Will he do it?
I mean we know we can run on these teams why not air it out? If its not working then run it in the second half

QB - Huge improvement because the starter returns
RB - Slight improvement because everyone returns. However they were already great.
WR - Huge improvement because everyone returns except the guys who transferred due to being at the bottom of the depth chart.
Oline - This unit will improve. Time will show that not only were Vadal and Hawkins overrated, they were also playing out of position.
Dline - Big improvement. Everyone returns.
LB - Static. Two of our four, Key and Beckwith, will be very good. The other two will just be serviceable.
DB's - Solid improvement just because everyone but Mills is back. The surprise this year is that our #1 corner will be Donte. He has great instincts, elite speed and quickness, and is a decent tackler for being so light.
Kicker - Who knows
Punter - This would be the most improved position on the team if they'd just have a guest high school punter each week. Keehn was the worst I've ever seen.
