Stats from last night: Terrance Tolliver 3 rec 33 yds, Rueben randle 2 rec 30 yds, and shep 2 rec 18 yds. This is all against the crappiest team in our League. Do yall really realize the kind of talent/NFL potential these guys have? In my opinion shep, tolliver, and rueben are getting screwed.

we have the #107 pass offense after 2 weeks where we've played crappy vandy and UNC's second team defense. whats the problem???..... LES ? JJ? Crowton???

All 3 probably, but I'm thinking Jordan Jefferson is the most correctable problem, just my opinion. I mean where's all this optimism coming from with JJ? two games in against weak defenses and look at the numbers. what do we have to look forward to? another year ranked last in the league in offense i bet if we keep this guy as our starting qb. does he ever look to his 2nd our 3rd options on passing plays? i don't see it. is he competent enough to run a college offense? i don't think he is. I mean can we get a QB in there who can call time outs in obvious situations and won't spike the ball to end the game and lose? the coach ca't hold your hand on the field JJ. This guy should be throwing well over 200 yds a game with 3 five star WR's to throw it to!!!!

We have a qb controversy on our hands at LSU and our coach just doesn't want to admit it. If Lee isn't our QB within the next cpl of games its going to be a long, unsatisfiying, and mediocre season yet again, but hey maybe that'll get LES out of here and thats what the majority of tiger fans want, thats the fans who understand that these our LSU's glory days and aren't satisfied with mediocrity and 9-4 seasons with all this talent coming in

wow, we're not last in pass offense? not much running after the catch going on. seems our receivers have to be laying on the ground or flat footed over the middle when they catch a pass from jj. certainly not sharp.

I agree with most that JJ has to improve but didn't the WR's drop a few too? They have to step up too with catches and run after catching. I realize that is the least of any issue we had last night.

I agree that JJ looked very unreliable last night, but there were several dropped passes that our talented WR's have to catch. The entire passing game has to improve.

I agree know is the problem. He didn't have one good throw last night and the recievers were clearly frustrated. We need to make a change to somebody who can actually hit an open reciever on time and in stride. Something know hasn't done at all.

all we have to do is throw strikes to our receivers and talent will take care of itself.

Whether JJ, JLee or RS is throwing passes, it really doesnt matter.

The ball cant be thrown behind, at the shoe laces or no where near the guy. In those scenarios, it's not the coaches fault.

I never understood how teams like Louisville, the Saints, Old Kentucky days, could throw and catch all day with no drops but we'd have wide open WR's and they'd drop the ball.

Looking forward to next week. I do believe we'll see JLee next week.(he wont start but I think he'll play in the first half)

A few at the ankles
a few behind,
a few too high and a few unkind.

Are the receivers that good? how is pass route running? I am not convinced that they are really as good as we make them out to be. Every time they show the coverage, it looks like they are covered. no separation.
Where the frick is our TE or FB throws? We do not exploit the opponents LB's nearly enough. Most of that is play calling.
BTW - I AM NOT PRO JJ OR PRO JL. In fact I was pro JL in 2008 and 2009. I thought he should have been sent out as the starter last season b/c of experience. I do NOT hol the second part of the Bama game or LT on him. that was clearly b/c of a lack of PT.

This is something that is rarely a questioned but it is a fair question nontheless .....

This happens more than people realize..either due to shitty play calling or giving up on plays or not making adjustments

here is what I posted in the spring of 2009 about our offense (long read). See the statement about Herman Johnson (prophetic):

No agenda. I just do not understand how blind people are on here. LSU averaged more points this past year than the previous. HOWEVER, we could not run the ball - meaning we were forced into throwing way more than we should have. The second reason was the obvious - LACK of defense. Everyone will agree those 2 are the most important components for winning championships. I am watching the '03 replays. That team was so solid on D and could run. They won games. They also had a 24 y/o QB - not a 19 y/o.
My point is Crowton needed to earn his pay. He should not have put the pressure on JL within their own 20 yard line like Gary Daniels said the minute before JL threw that pick.
Again, there is no agenda - keep the pressure off of the QB and run the football consistently. That is as simple as I can state it.

Here is what I learned about JL today
Well the film study sounds logical b/c JL couldn't read any defensive set on any down. This was evident that if you watched JL last year you would notice that he was pretty effective when he his primary receiver was open, but he struggled and almost paniced when he was forced to look at his second receiver, or God forbid his third receiver. So his arse better be learning how to read defenses and study film or he will be playing at some multi-directional school in 2010

JL MAY start the season at #2, BUT will p1ay more than the others. LM felt "pressure" and forced himself to play JJ. Let's keep in mind the truth. The GENIUS OC Crowton was no better than AZZWIPE on CBS ANALYST CALLING the plays before they happened in ALL of those game! A change of pace would be more like it. JL WAS THE THIRD RATED QB GOING INTO LAST SPRING BEFORE THE RP CRAP! JR struggled during his tenure at LSU from lack of film study. GO look at Nicko's trust in his playing time. As most people would say, if the 2nd QB was better than the first, he would be playing. The injury situation to Hatch hurt him more than anything. Get real, JJ will NOT be able to run the ball if LSU Can't RUN the football. LAST YEAR WE SUCKED! That start's with Herman Johnson. He Sucked at Run Blocking. He won't sniff the field in the NFL unless he improves his footwork. We have to be able to run the rock. it is that simple. When Arkansas figured that out, they ate JJ up. He played about 3/4's total time that would win in the SEC last year. That is it. The SEC defenses will eat his lunch if he doesn't learn to read. just ask JL.
