What did you guys think about his transition to LT after KJ went down? I know he had a holding call but I actually like him a lot better there. I feel like he's a lot more natural and skilled there and could benefit us and himself at LT. Thoughts?

His NFL Draft film is gonna look awesome.

Scouts and analysts will suck his dick talking about how well he can play all 5 positions.

Pretty sure that dude would be our best oline player at any of the positions if coached up.

He's the closest thing we have to a prototypical LT. Not sure why he hasn't been there all year.

I noticed this and I'm wandering if this will be a permanent thing now. Dodd didn't look too shabby.

Dodd is inadequate center.

What about Clapp?

He looked absolutely fine after the hold on the first play he moved.

I'd much rather have him at LT than Malone.

Just put Clapp at C, and KJ at G.

Was KJ sucking at LT, though? That state front is supposed to be elite. Seems like he did alright against them.

I would bet that it had to do with him missing off-season time after his surgery. The staff may have not wanted to make the move due to the lack of time for him to work on the technical changes between tackle and the other spots. As great as he is, that is a big change.

Didn't Weathersby get hurt to? How is he?

It is obvious and has been for a couple years that Pocic and Dodd are the only OLs the coaches trust at center.

Agreed, SEC DE competition will require a OT who can move his feet and use his hands/arm affectively to keep rushers at-bay. We have heard Clapp can play C...

How about Clapp/C, Boutte/G, Teuhema/G (does not have the quickness to play OT, was solid at G last season), Pocic and Weathersby at OT?

Yeah, he was there for what, three drives? And he only killed one of them

But that doesn't fit your narrative, does it?

I agree with you Penrod. I didn't see the stellar performance that many on here witnessed. I saw him hold on the drive killer but he was not in long enough to say he was a natural, especially after looking out of position on his first snap at LT.

Malone gets too much irrational hate. He hasn't been the weakest link on the line this year. Small sample size, but he hasn't been getting abused.
