i realize he has more experience, but if we dont get big ed and even valentine in there a little more we are going to get pushed back vs bama. We need to get a push from our line. If not, then at least hold it---not get pushed back! Their run game will be successful if we dont, and we all know what that means. If they cant run they cant win. If they can run, they dominate. Its their formula for success along with stopping the run. please for the love of god dont let 99 see the majority of dt snaps like last week....this really worries me and is the diff between beating them or losing

What has Valentine done exactly to show you that he is ready to go against Bama?

its pretty simple...gilmore gets pushed back. against bama we cant give up 5 yds every damn run up the middle. ed doesnt usually get pushed back and valentine can play a few snaps here and there even. he has shown more than gilmore in the few plays hes had. the point is we need more beef in the middle. we are playing bama. they pound the ball up the middle....a lot....If they are successful they win. we have to stop the run.. even half the time. we wont do that with 99 in there as productively. the games are won in the trenches. bama has proven that year after year

what has 99 shown against anyone? TV is 350 lbs ..that and even flashes of what we thought he would be... is much more important for this game

i guess everyone who down voted thinks hes great against the run. im not hating on him. i wish him all the success in the world. just know we need diff dts against bama--they have a diff offense than ole piss. seems pretty obvious we need beef in there to stop their run..

Only loons are dumb enough to second guess expert coaches.

I trust this coaching staff more under Coach O than Les when evaluating talent and playing time and certainly more than your evaluation from watching the games on TV. I suspect Gilmore plays better technique (than TV). Agree Alexander has more upside potential. The NG often gets double teamed, especially in a 3-4 alignment. If Gilmore is getting destroyed, he's not going to get the majority of the snaps with this coaching staff. Just chill bruh.

Gilmore is indeed having difficulty with double teams. But in 1-on-1 he isn't getting whipped every play like some imply.

I think most assume that's happening because his name isn't being called. I saw many times where he pushed the OM center back a couple of yards but more importantly didn't let the center steer him left or right to create running lanes.

He does get very good arm extension keeping the OL off of him, hence if he needs to shed a block and cut down, for example- a running QB, he can.

It looks to me that he's doing his job and sticking to his assignments fairly well.

Yall get off GG. He's busting arse for the P&G while you leave in the 3rd quarter to beat traffic.

I mean, about 99% of the time the other team has had success running the ball, Gilmore is in. This was noticed as early as game 1. The only success rushing that Wisconsin had was against him. Valentine put an end to that and didn't get pushed around.

I honestly have zero clue what our coaches see in Gilmore. He is only playing because of experience. Talent wise, he is easily 3rd.

He is a huge disappointment. Does absolutely nothing when he's in there, I would rather see the freshmen in there until Valentine comes around, hopefully.

I think we'll see more 4-3 in this game, so Gilmore won't be playing NG as much.
