Playing 2 True and 1 RSF on the OL is Amazing

Due to attrition and injury, it is unbelievable how Ingram, Charles, and Magee played vs. Auburn. These kids are getting better each day, and although the OL is a major concern, the performance last week-end was encouraging and noteworthy. We can't afford more injuries (hope 63 and 66 can recover soon), however, Grimes needs a boatload of credit developing these freshmen.

This was always a problem we were going to grow out of. I've been saying since the summer after all the OL attrition - we have SEC quality Olinemen - we just don't have any younger players with much experience.
And you simply cannot expect a true or RS frosh to play that position as well as an upperclassmen - he hasn't shed the baby fat in most cases and just doesn't have the physical maturity and strength yet to be dominant. It's why it is the most redshirted position.
Now, we still have to keep recruiting OL - 5 or 6 every class for 4 classes isn't too many. I'd like 18 to 20 scholarship OL - I think we have 9 or 10.
(But, greatly encouraged as Auburn has, probably, the most talented front 7 we will face the rest of the way except Bama.)

I agree with 100% of your post. I am amazed that Ingram, Charles, and Magee held their own vs. Auburn. We need 6/8 OL in this class with at least a couple of JUCO's.

It's what we need to keep Malone and weathersby are soft. Malone sucks at pass blocking

I'd love to get Brennan some more snaps too.
I know it's all SEC games left though.

They didn't make as many mistakes against Auburn, but they still are weak. Bama will blow that line back all day.

Auburn has a legit front 7. Yes Bama's is better, but not astronomically so.

Another uneducated shot taken. Weak? How the frick do you beat Auburn with a "weak" O line? Inexperienced maybe. Too many freshman maybe but weak? Just plain stupid comment by a keyboard warrior who has zero idea of what it takes to be successful upfront. To deal with the issues thrown at this group weak is the last thing used to describe this line.

Magee is a RS Soph fwiw.

I think Bama's line is slightly better than Auburn's. We'll see in a couple of weeks, won't we?

Particularly the front 7 - Auburn's DBs are average/above average for the conference, but nothing special (as a group - they have a couple of outstanding DBs) - their front 7 is comparable to Bama's.
The performance of the young players on the line was incredibly encouraging.

It won't be amazing in Tuscaloosa

Lil baw, wouldn't you suggest our line was better than Troy? Did we just make too many mistakes? Is that possible, even for Auburn? Who has our line physically dominated this year? Tell me please, educated Specklure.
Typical dumb comments from a dumb coon-arse. Go fishing, skip the football, idiot
Freshman=Weak=Inexperienced

Just go be a fan of them then.
FYI: Jeff Holland was supposed to be nightmare for this young line. How many times did you hear his name called?

Knew it was gonna happen with Malone, clapp , whethersby before the seaon even started. These guys seem to be hurt every other week. If anything at least these young guys will be seasoned for the next few seasons. Now grimes needs to get some quality depth in this class but i sure aint seeing that yet.

From what I've read you post today, you just seem to really suck as a poster and as an LSU fan. Low brow humor and zero insight other than to shite on anything positive that's posted. You're the guy that has a "yeah, but" for anything good. Alabama may be tough on our OL? Hmmmm, congrats for breaking that for all of us. Guess what genius? They'll be tough on everyone's OL.
As impossible as it may seem to you, you're not that clever and most of us enjoy watching young guys overcome some adversity and figure it out like this OL seems to be doing.
Lurk more & post less.

Nobody would have ever believed it during the preseason either. Freshman class is looking really special right now.
