Not only did we implement a new offense in the off-season, we've virtually perfected it. We carved up an elite defense, and they couldn't fricking stop it.

I know we have an RPO spread offense, but it is more important to say they are executing at a very high level. The receivers are just grabbing everything and not letting go. That did not happen last year. I would dare to say that even if we ran the offense last year with this year's receivers, Joe would have looked much better.

Question, is our spread different than others around the country. Why do we seem that much more dynamic than other offenses this year? Are there different concepts brought in from the Saints?

I do not know. I watch Bama and they run spread but they our athlete a lot of teams. They run basic plays and YAC it. When I watch LSU, I have a lot different feel. It is like multiple options and multiple levels. Am I wrong? I really do not know.

Our last pass Td was a thing of beauty. The “pick/rub” designed into the play was incredible. Looked very Saints’y.

I think it’ll be a while before we play in space.

Joe pushes it downfield and is deadly accurate.

I get the Muppets Show reference, but the thread title needs exclamation marks.

Yeah. That was an incredible job by CEH. He didn’t touch any Florida player or even really get all that right up on them. He just ran close enough to have the Florida guys run into each other. Leaving Chase wide open.

I don’t miss it one bit and I adore this new offense but I kept waiting for the pic you posted to turn into a gif and watch Leonard hurdle one guy and run over another. Man I miss watching him play

My brother and I said the same thing watching the game. Strong hands and they don't miss many.

I cant say our RPO is run differently than other offenses, as I do not pay close enough attention to other teams...but one thing i do see that separates LSU from the rest is a QB that actually reads the defense and works through progressions.

Example TUA - I think Tua is very good, but he does not go through his progressions. Pre snap he has determined where he is going to go with it and then 99% of the time his elite receivers beat their man or the coverage. I really think this is confirmed when ESPN showed his receivers literally playing rock/paper/scissors on the field to decide who gets to line up in certain spot....they know this is where Tua will be going with the ball and they want the ball thrown to them!

Clemson game last year exposed this and as a result Tua had by far his worse game of his career.

Yes. If you are familiar with the saints offense, it works so well because there are too many players in space for the defense to cover all the time. We are either flooding the field, or using certain receivers to open up others. If you have a smart QB who can get the ball out quick (which we do) and WR who can learn routes (which we do) these plays are near unstoppable.

Speaking of this, does anyone have the "they can't fricking stop it" gif? I've been looking all over for it

I can't wait until this juvenile trend, of using multiple periods in lieu of an exclamation point, dies.

I still can't believe it finally happened

10 or so off-seasons of hearing it will be different only to not happen still makes me think I am dreaming.
