Playcalling was decent last night but you just can expect it turn on a dime

Harris has hardly any collegiate experience spreading the guys out. No crossing routes, no boot legs, no play action, 1 screen. Only deep balls. LSU never plays this way and probably doesnt even practice this way. Harris QB play and the receivers routes are laughable. So in games like Ole Miss and last night there is a reason it looks so shitty. Coaching! Its that simple. Harris has a good arm but he has never been coached on how to use it effectively.

I'm sure he's coached to throw terribly.

I mean, is he? Bc he's doing well in the games if he's practicing as such.

I'm not defending Harris , he needs to make the throws , he missed a bunch of open receivers but chavis has made plenty of qbs look bad his time here at LSU.....

you can't defend Harris performace last night. He had time in the pocket. He had open receivers. The game plan/ play calls were generally pretty good.

Harris has to execute when put in that situation. Again, he had time to throw, he had open receivers and he really got nothing done.

Im not down on him. Coaches IMO put him in a position to succeed last night. He didn't take advantage of it is the problem.

Agreed! Harris had some open receivers but his passing was off target most of night. Receivers dropped a few passes (Diarse dropped a few and Fournette 1 pass that I recall) but overall Harris was off target for majority of night. The jet sweep must be out of playbook and I don't know if we'll ever see a half-back pass. Those 2 plays are in the playbook you would think. When LSU does decide to run a play that is not obvious it usually works. Just need more of them. Also would be nice to see more receiver quick screens like we used to see w other LSU offenses of the past. Harris also gives away the plays and does a poor job of looking off the defense. Maybe more snaps will improve his moxy as a QB. We'll see. Otherwise, maybe Franks or some new QB can come in and lead this team to the promised land. Better QB play is needed - no doubt about that.
