Last two weeks we finally started throwing more quick passes and running a few different running plays like the outside toss.

Little things like putting in what you think would be a blocking TE like Storz and then running a WR swing pass and then actually throwing to Storz.

Better blocking and execution by QB and receivers makes a lot of plays more effective

When your QB is playing with confidence, it opens up the playbook. Not just by stretching the field but also from the trust the offensive staff has in the offense to execute.

It has more to do with Daniels finally trusting his receivers and getting rid of the ball on time than play calling.

BK’s situational call sheet seems to be getting bigger too.

It’s probably due to JD finally learning the new system. Coaches now trust him enough that they can open it up with him.

I don’t know who it is that’s actually calling the plays but our offense looks noticeably better after CBK had the play sheet in hand.

Doesn’t really matter who calls em… just win!

Meanwhile, Ole Miss dropping 8 like we’ve been murdering teams over the top all season…… Lane may know offense, but

We aren't calling different plays. We are just finally executing the plays that are called. I don't think people realize how much Daniels refusing to test defense intermediate and deep affected our entire offense. Defenses could keep their eyes in the backfield and not pay the price of getting beat deep because JD wasn't pulling the trigger. It's no coincidence that our rbs have looked better against UF and Ole Miss. It's no coincidence that our oline looks completely different now that Daniels is pulling the trigger earlier.

Agree, except for the second and one and then the third on one and they call pass plays I agreed with most of their play calling. I’m giving them a 85 on jeffsdad play calling charts. They will be excited.

Play calling has been fine all season with the exception of the FSU game. Execution of the plays has gotten better, which points to better QB play and confidence in skill positions. Also the Oline had its best outing yet on Saturday which has a huge impact.

Ole Miss was way overrated going into this game and LSU was nowhere close to ready for Tennessee. Bama will test all facets of this team. Now that they are healthy and have some notches on the belt it should be a good demonstration of what this team is now versus what we want this team to be in the future.

Receivers were open the first 5 weeks, JD just wasn't confidently throwing the ball. Our WRs are fantastic, so even imperfection works.

Play calling is not improving; it is play execution that is improving. You're just the kind of fan who thinks a running back sucks if he gets only one yard, or he's great if he gets 10, without considering if he had a hole through which to run. Similarly, if an offense is stagnant you think there is something wrong with play calling, when it's more likely to be something wrong with the execution.
