How many rest days do pitchers really need?

Depends on the pitcher, the number of pitches thrown, and type of arm.

Back in the 1920s we got 1 day of rest if we were lucky and pitched in 100 degree weather. I had to use a dead possum skin as my glove.

Pitchers today are just examples of the pussification of America.
