And plenty would have been 3. And it looked like 2 BS offensive fouls to take him out of the game.

6 foot 5 inch point guard, I think he would've fared well, if not even better than he did "in the day." He was just as quick and fast as today's point guards, if not quicker and faster, would've destroyed the 3 pt line, and, there's never been a better passer and ballhandler.

He also sat briefly in the second quarter (for about one minute).

I also saw a special on TV a whil eback. AT the end, it said someone (I forgoet who) looked at each shot in relation to a 3 point line, and he would have had seventy something (74 or so I think). ANd he obviously had no three point line to even try a 3 pointer. I imagine he would have tried several.

Wasn't that Walt Frazier guarding him part of the time, who was perennially on the All-NBA defensive team?

Clyde the Glide was an excellent guard. Frankly, I'd take those 70s-era players over today's "stars" hands-down -- Gilmore, Jabbar, Lanier, McAdoo, Thompson, Maravich, Frazier, Barry, Erving, McGinnis, Gervin, Adams, Archibald, etc.

I was actually a Shoe Town Ball boy for a game against the Spurs. I got to stay under the backet and sweep the lane for the whole game. During shoot around, George "The Ice Man" Gervin put me on his shoulder the fix something with the net.

Got Pete's autograph after the game. He was having his leg worked on in the locker room.

What has always amazed me about Pistol, besides, of course, his shooting touch, was how silky smooth all the time. Lithe, with a very deceptive quick shot. With just a hair of space he would shoot it in.

His work ethic on the floor is only matched by MJ. Both were always moving, offensively and defensively. Those guys never took a night off (that's a guess, since I didn't see many of their games).

Pistol and MJ seemed to be toying with every other player on the court.

No doubt, Kobe is a great player. But his mood swings bring him down more than he would like to admit.

I never get tired of films of Pete and MJ, though. Amazing.
