quick question when the ball is handed off like that , its behind the line of scrimmage . do those players know they can throw that ball out of bounds to avoid the loss?

True, but you would likely have an O Lineman down field and it would be illegal

I like all of the motion prior to the snap. The qb can get a look at if it's man coverage verses zone, plus gives the defense less time to make adjustments and cement their assignments.
