It sounds like Markway was ahead at least in the first week based on the all around package of catching and blocking. A TE2 needs to develop some blocking skill as that's probably more often what he's on the field for.

Yep, and that is Markway. Pimpton appears to be too talented to not see the field, but it will be as a receiver this season.

red zone offense, I'd take Lacy out get Pimpoton as a WR or another TE alongside Maason, and Nabors and BTJ seems like a TOUGH task for any defense to deal with.

The offensive weapons are silly. Daniels can run. Taylor/Pimpton Diggs/Emery Nabors/Lacy/Thompson Jr/Anderson/Hilton Jr/etc. Could be a really special year.
u have to insert a double reverse with Anderson and Hilton it’s only right

Big Pimpton

Wonder if the band would be allowed to play “Big Pimpin” when he scores or makes a big play.

With the addition of Anderson and Pimpton I'm not sure how Denbrock can contain himself. He has so many weapons and ways that he can breakdown a defense. If JD can get the ball in the hands of his playmakers and pick his spots to make plays with his feet, this offense could be one of the best in CFB.

offensive weapons

Running back room still has Josh Williams, who does the little things well. Mac Markway may the most well-rounded game in the TE room.

With all the other star power, having guys who block the extra second, sell the play-action, etc...will make getting the ball to those other guys easier

I don't care much for the "look at me" stuff, but this would be pretty cool for Pimp to do after a TD catch:

Looks like he has good hands and excellent body control. Would love to see JD loft one to him vs FSU for an early score.

He'll probably get his time in short yardage and red zone situations. I doubt he will be able to be counted on much for blocking this year, but it will create lots of red zone mismatches with the height of him and our other receivers.

He's going to move up the depth chart fast. His potential is greatest of any of the TEs on our roster IMO. He can be a Kyle Pitts type receiving TE for us.

The JUCO kid or Markway will probably come in more as an extra blocking TE but Pimpton can spell Taylor a good bit when we want the TE to run routes so Taylor isnt playing all 65-80 offensive snaps every game.

Who is that kid throwing him the ball? Ball placement on almost all of those throws was nearly perfect.

One thing that always stuck out on his HS film is how insane his catch radius is and how he caught EVERYTHING. That seems to have translated to the college level. You can just toss the ball up, 50/50 it and then it just ends up in his hands 100% of the time.

hope he's fast enough to get separation in the sec, will draw a lot of double coverage if so
