I simply don’t have this much faith in this coaching “move”

I understand this opinion. The move does reek of desperation but I will say this if anyone can come in and help the DL this deep into the season it is Pete Jenkins.

My thoughts on this are I'm glad Kelly saw the need to get the DL motivated and playing better because they are playing WELL under ceiling right now with poor technique. I think he went out and got someone familiar with here, the fans are familiar with and has a great reputation in Pete Jenkins. My last thought is how much impact will an 82 year old Pete Jenkins really have coaching though. I dont know that many physically active/sharp early 80 year olds out there and not sure what Pete looks like after being out of coaching entirely for the last 6 years. Going from your mid 70s to early 80s is a pretty big difference for a lot of people so I'm definitely skeptical what he can bring.

Obviously hope he does make a difference, but I also think it took a lot to bring him out of coaching retirement to come here and coach DL for remainder of season.

I think a big question is why didnt we make any move on DL help until now if Lindsey was in such poor health. It's possible they thought Lindsey would return at some point during the season but it seemed like reports of his condition when it all went down sounded like a VERY long recovery, not something he would be back from in a couple months.

So not only is our defense historically bad, now we might inadvertently kill an elderly man.

Jenkins was literally at Alabama in 2021 to do the same shite. Why do people think this is a band-aid to shut people up? The guy is THE d-line guru! Honestly this should have been done when Lindsey went out but hindsight is always 20/20!

I said the exact same thing and was roundly downvoted. Clowns.
Kelly should immediatley call Pete Jenkins

I love Pete, but think this was just a band-aid by CBK to silence all the commotion...

If he can teach them to tackle and contain that's more than a bandaid.

PJ is here as an Analyst. I don't think LSu would need a waiver. I am glad he is here but the call should have been made weeks ago.

They might have been after him for some time and, for whatever reason, only now he agreed to come on board. We'll probably never know....
