I wish the answer would be leaning more towards increasing the season by two games.

I'd almost guarantee you we go to a 9 conference game schedule. we'd still play 3 east teams and one permanent and everyone in the west.

I'd welcome getting rid of that permanent opponent....totally unfair to LSU

I'd rather NOT have to play a perennial powerhouse from the East every year (unlike the rest of the West) and risk a trip to Atlanta over a non-divisional loss.

having florida for a permanent opponent fricking sucks, and im sure they feel the same way. the west is hard enough as it is, ill be more than happy to get rid of this.

I would rather just meet Florida in ATLANTA each year.

If the conference was to expand (happen), the permanent LSU-UF rivalry would be ended (happen).

I think all non-division games should be rotated. It is the only fair way to to it. Permanent cupcake (relative) vs permanent powerhouse is an advantage or a disadvantage depending on who you happen to be paired with.

I would hate to loss the matchup.. From the game in 97 to the birth of lesticles, it has proven to be a measuring stick of east vs west..

Yes, agreed. Plus it gives the MS schools an advantage. I'd sure rather play Kentucky or Vandy every year instead of UF. Sure, UF has had a few down years (Zook) but how is this equitable? If all the teams don't face each other, then there should be no permanent opponents.

Some years #1 and #2 are clear cut at the end of the year. More often there are multiple 1-loss teams all making their pitch for one or sometimes both of the spots in the BCSCG. I think it was '06 when a loss to FL kept LSU out of the SECCG and allowed an Arkie team that the Tigers had just destroyed to go to Atlanta. Two years later, 2-loss LSU goes to the BCSCG ahead of undefeated Hawaii and a host of other 2-loss teams. Strength of schedule is a double edged sword but at the end of the year, when everyone is asking "Who'd you beat?", I like saying, "We beat FL, bitches."

It is not '03 or '07 any longer. Situations change.

Had we not lost to them in '09 we would have had a better season.

If the issue were ratings, I would rather play Notre Dame or USC or Michigan or Texas... on certain years.

But if it is a recruiting advantage to constantly be in Florida, then by all means I hope that we keep it.

To me what sucks is that this crap is all about money. SEC should be dropping two schools not adding two. I have always found it to be a bit moronic to say that we are in the same conf. with Georgia but we end up only playing them once in a blue moon.
