"He's learned from his mistakes, he now knows what his deficiencies are"....

he was sitting at home when les called him to coach because nobody wanted him as a head coach

He had this experience prior to Ole Miss.
And he went 3-21 in conference after convincing the AD to hire him using the same rhetoric.

shouldn't this be a red flag though?
he has been around a lot of very successful programs and he has been a successful interim HC before...
...and yet after all of that, he is/was still a barely sought after DL coach
elite coaches are almost always identified early in their career

No he did not, he did not have head coaching experience prior to Ole Miss and tried coaching the entire team like he did his d-line and micro-managed everything...
He has acknowledged these mistakes and changed the way he does things and has taken advice from other head coaches since then and applied what he has learned when he coached USC after Kiffin was fired on the tarmac and again now...
If people will take the time to actually read Coach Os statements on his past and what other coaches and players have stated about his coaching since Ole Miss would learn something instead of constantly reposting these type of post...

He hasn't been around a successful team since 2004

Hmmm, coaching improvement through osmosis. Sounds plausible.
