Penalties

You could look at the penalties from a different perspective. In 2007 when LSU won it's last NC the Tigers stayed in the top 20 of most penalized teams nationwide. By Nov LSU made it to #3 where they ended the season with 8.7 per game. If I'm not mistaken, in most cases the years NC almost always ranks pretty high on the list (Not always as high as 3rd). And Of course it's no secret which conference is the most penalized nationwide.

And that team lost 2 games. Do you think a 2-loss LSU would make the playoffs? Maybe. Maybe not.

LSU is ranked 14th right now, that's about on par. Wouldn't want to see us climb any higher.

UF won it the next year with 1 loss and ranked 11th.
