560 yards given up
busted coverages all over the place
no pass rush
461 yards given up passing
looked completely overwhelmed in the secondary
pathetic

Yeah thats how the 2005 defense started the season on the road against a .500 pac 10 team. Arizona St lit us up. Pelini and his troops looked completely lost that week and in the following week (against MUCH worse competition). That defense turned out to be a top 10 defense. Have faith.

The problem is the D is not young. It is time to get the younger guys in to see if they have talent. Then hit the recruiting trail hard for defensive studs.

In all fairness, I think UGA would do this to most defenses in the SEC.

this. but the fact that our most experienced and effective group, the D Line, was unable to get any pressure whatsoever is the glaring problem that I took from yesterday's game...the secondary is a whole other issue. the 2 (yes TWO) times we got pressure on Murray, he threw behind his TE on second down and then the following play Freak got pressure then got his hands up and picked the ball off...after that...nothing.

ODB's fumbled punt didn't help either, but that is a more fixable problem than this defense right now.

The D line has been a letdown to me. I think the secondary will improve as White gets more experience and Robinson is integrated. But the D line has to step up for us to have any chance vs JFF and Bama.

Simply put we don't have a defense yet. It will improve as we progress, but now I don't see anyone standing out on defense. I hope the Chief can get it worked out soon.

I don't know but I'm really not mad about the D. Wasn't pretty much everyone expecting a shootout? Seems like fake (or misplaced) outrage when what we all suspected would happen, actually happened.

The muffed punt irks me more than anything because OBJ is one of our leaders. If it happened to a redshirt freshman or something, ok. When we need great judgement and focus from a leader, he let the team down.
