I see these arguments pop up this a.m. "Losers settle for second" and "losers are happy with second." "So we get a participation trophy."

No one settled. Every LSU fan wanted the team to beat Florida and win this year's NC. Every LSU fan wants an NC next year. But, NC's aren't easy. There is only one NC winner. LSU had a great season this year and no one is "settling" by saying that LSU had a great season.

There is no reason for any true LSU fan to be disgruntled over this year's finish.

It is entirely possible to be disappointed in not winning the NC AND still recognize we had a great season. Those fans that don't realize that are likely the same ones that are never happy and always complain about LSU sports, regardless of outcome.

That's right we were forced to get the participation trophy. Florida was just the better team end of story, maybe if we had Walker things would have been different but we didn't and we lost and they did the bestg they could. Bats went cold at wrong time especially against Florida's staff if your having issues before they will embarrass you which is exactly what they did to our hitters. Grats to them we will be back next yeasr

Totally agree here. I thought this team underachieved for much of the season but when it counted, they put themselves in a great position to win a title.

I was extremely pissed off last night...although I realized considering where this team was 8 weeks ago, all of us would have been happy with this outcome...

some of the stuff that happened during these two games left a bad taste....

I will be out at The Box welcoming our team home today because this squad made LSU and its true fans proud! Geaux Tigers! A well deserved break is hopefully coming up for these guys.

Incredible season. Its extremely disappointing to not have won the NC but 2nd place out of 300 teams qualifies as a great season!

No reason we won't be back in Omaha next season and this program remains elite.

Reflecting on this season I remember Florida looked like a borderline average team midway through the season. LSU too for that matter. Maybe some of our posters can remember that and recall that come April next year if this team hits a midseason lull. Oregon State had two 23 game win streaks and didn't make it to the championship. Its how you finish and LSU did what they needed to do late in the year but were just unfortunate over the past couple days and made a few too many mistakes. We have a great group coming back that'll be hungry to get back here next year and finish the job!

That is the definition of what NOT a fan of a team is. They stay when they win and leave when they don't. They probably loved the lakers and then moved on to the heat and are now huge golden state fans!
