Years ago, when LSU was discussing what to do about parking and additional ways to have funding to help offset the money spent for trash pickup, many fans suggested making all parking $20. But instead LSU went with $40 spots with $50 trailer parking fees.

At the time LSU claimed this additional money would be for the fan experience and the money would go to additional port o lets and comfort restrooms.

Instead they cut back on those and eliminated some of the parking attendant helpers and reduced the number of policeman hired for traffic control.

They totaled screwed our spot. We have been tailgating between Boyd and Coates for years. We didn't mind the pay/game but now it's total reserved.

I think this is the final straw. I'll just watch on TV. It's becoming to much of a hassle.

We were right across from you on the corner of Coates on the Boyd side. Going to be a lot of people that show up for first game in that area and have no clue that changes have been made.

I feel like I've been kicked in the balls when LSU releases the new parking rules each year.

As of last week, LSU was still selling them for $500/year (non-renewable I think).

When I talked to the ticket office last week they told me they were sold out.

We have been parking and tailgating by Pleasant for years but I guess that is over now.

Also, I might have missed it but I don't remember them announcing this last spring. If I had known I would have applied for a pass when I ordered my tickets.

Was able to get one parking pass for Coates lot. Does anyone know how trailers work in the reserved lots? Can you park your trailer in the space and park the truck elsewhere? Do you have to park a vehicle in the spot and park the trailer elsewhere, which is going to mean I have to carry all the stuff from the trailer to the tailgate spot to set up and then back to trailer after game is over. This really sucks

Where is LSU selling these? Do you have to call or can you get them online?

I called the ticket office. I was able to get one for the Coates lot. It was 600 for the year. He did tell me today that I could also buy one for 500 a year in Pleasant lot. I know it's also based on your priority points because he said my number was high enough to qualify me for either lot. He told me that I got the last one for Coates and he didn't say how many were left for Pleasant.

In true LSU fashion, they did not announce these spots turning into reserved lots until after the deadline passed to get on the parking pass deadline.

Parking spots are available in the garage behind Barnes and Noble. Costs is 145 (135 plus 10 handling fee)for season if you buy all 7 games in advance. Guaranteed to have spot for all games. People in our tailgate are buying these and will just walk to Coates with a rolling icechest. You can order online at www.lsusports.net

I never post on the rant and I haven't helped run tailgate for the past five or six years. That said, its almost become easier for the average small to medium sized group to tailgate at ROAD GAMES than tailgating for LSU home games.

That's what I wound up doing.

If you aren't going to tailgate this actually has some advantages, but it is going to be a pure cluster trying to get out of that garage after a game.

We did that all last year because my wife was still a student and had her student parking pass in the parking garage which we could use on gamedays. It was nice for us because we would just tailgate all morning/afternoon then leave just before kickoff to make it home to watch. With a newborn, we had the ability to get in and get out of campus with ease and the parking garage was hardly full. It will probably be more full with these new rules, but it puts you caddycorner to the parade grounds, which isnt terrible.

ETA: If you go early enough, you can park at the Law School for free. Its not guaranteed like the garage or covered from the elements, but its free. Just a tip incase any of you die hards are looking for a equally close free option.
