1) Two homers in one game.
2) HR runs from both sides of the plate in one game.

The 2nd may stand for 50 years or more.

There have been several players hit two home runs in the same game in the CWS.

At the new park.

Other players have hit 3 (JD Drew) in one game on the old field.

Some have hit three. That's the record for one game

It's a record for TD Ameritrade, not CWS history.

Two jacks from each side in the same game may be a record for all CWS history. Someone get on that stat

At the new park.
Nah, Pap is the seventh player to hit 2 home runs in the same game in TD Ameritrade Stadium.

Eta:
quote:

1. Pappy was slap happy: Tigers' catcher Michael Papierski, batting in the eighth hole, was 2-for-11 from the plate in the CWS heading into Saturday's game. And then he chose the perfect time to become the seventh man in the 320-game history of Ameritrade Park to hit two homers in one game.

i dont have a link to the sauces, but I did hear earlier during the game by Kyle Peterson that it was a CWS record.

Higgins' article isn't entirely accurate. Pap is the first hit 2 HRs in one game at the CWS in the new park.

It has occurred during other games because Creighton plays their home baseball games at TDA.

His homering from both sides of the plate may be a first in CWS, regardless of venue, though.

You're exactly right. Just got thru researching that unknown factoid:

quote:

He became the only documented player in the championship's history to homer from both sides of the plate in a game

I pointed that out to the damn ruski last night, but apparently facts don't mean shite to him. He just believes everything the media tells him.

The article is accurate since he didn't attempt to limit it to the CWS. Russian is just confused.

Yeah, the author's wrong there. The park just opened up back in 2011 according to one of the guys in the booth.

Wrong on what? He's talking about every game played there since 2011.

If every CWS from 2011 to this year had or were to go the distance, that's 17 games. That's only 119 games. So that leaves another 201 games, assuming every CWS went to 17 games, which they haven't.

It's impossible for him to have only been referring to the CWS, unless he's just crappy at math.

ETA: There have been 109 CWS games at TD Ameritrade since 2011. 2016 was the first time at TD that the CWS went all 17 games. Twice it went to 16 games (2014 and 2015). Twice (2011 and 2013), it only went 14 games.

You sure do get triggered easily over something involving LSU players, little brother. Especially considering you're basing your 'facts' on 3 TV media guys calling the game.

Nah, actually I looked it up myself after they said it, stooge. Doesn't take much to find what you're looking for when you know how to look.

You're the stooge that can't use common sense and figure out that the NOLA.com reporter wasn't just talking about the CWS.
