Serious question- how is this as a road trip with a 12 year old young man? My son is dying for a road game. Figure this is easier than Bama. Board thoughts?

Driving up to Memphis Friday afternoon. Driving down to Oxford Saturday morning.

First trip to Oxford. Any recommendations on bars, sports bars, places LSU fans go before the game?

My dad brought me to the 03 game in Oxford . I was 14 or 15 and it was just me and him. Drove up from Gulfport and drove back after the game.

I'll never forget it.

I'd recommend it

It's the perfect game. Ole Miss fans are some of the classiest/coolest in the conference and Oxford is about as close to a "family environment" as you will get for an SEC game. The little dude will have a blast.

Thanks to my two replies. I am convinced. Now let's see what other logistics I need to accomplish this. shite it can't be more difficult than coming from London but Oxford is pretty close to frickin Egypt

The library and the blind pig are solid bars. The Rib Cage is a restaurant with great food above ground and a bar below ground that usually has a ton of LSU fans. Just walk around Thompson Square and you'll see where the purp n gold is congregating. I've been twice and it's one of my favorite away games.

I would go ahead and book a hotel tonight bc LSU always travels heavy for this game. It's an easy 4 and half hour drive, 12 to 55 to 6.
