yeah, but the bullpens down the left field line were in foul territory at the old box too and that is where rendon got hurt .. so no, you FAIL there, bballgod ..

it was just a freak accident and will prolly not happen again for 50 years at the new box ... you have to be aware of where you are on the field ... if rendon played left field and slammed into the wall .. can't really blame it on the wall because it was hard ..

he said 70 years, it definitely wasn't in field of play for 70 years, it was before the bleachers were added down the RF line. I've been following baseball since 1989, i've seen Old Alex Box Stadium add more and more and more seating throughout the early 90's through mid 90's.

i wasn't even talking about the LEFT field line, i know Rendon got hurt before the pitcher's mound in the LF bullpen.

dude .. the guy got hurt down the left field line .. the bullpen you are talking about is of NO relevance to this comparison ... and you are missing his point .. he is basically saying that that particular bullpen was there for 70 years (LF bullpen) at the box and something like this never happened in recent memory ... you basically split hairs and knit picked his statement for the purpose of showing off and had nothing to do with what he was talking about ..

I KNOW he got hurt in LF line, the poster was saying the bullpen(s) have always been the way it was for 70 years at the old box, that remark is a fail, your post is just a flame against me, so it's no biggie.

Great player and I am certainly saddened that he got hurt... But I had nick named him "Pedro"d uring game one. The kid had a killer stache going. Anyone else catch that?

I was thinking the same thing.

He will be playing a lot in the future. He was the C-USA player of the year as a freshman. Always had a smile on his face though, even after he was hurt in the dugout grazing on a burger.

He wasn't hurt because of the bullpen, he was hurt because his teammate stepped on him. Not sure what the bullpen location has to do with any of this.

that's what i had heard on saturday, ice .. was that he either stepped on his teammate's foot or his teammate stepped on his .. but in the advocate yesterday, rendon was blaming the bullpen saying it felt like "quick sand" .. i guess the rice boards picked up on this and are now claiming the bullpen is the reason they are not going to omaha ..

J Mitch had a similiar deal where he had to run over the mound in foul territory. He did ok. Replays clearly show he (Pedro) was injured by a team mate. Pedro needs to rehab and get ready for next year with his mouth shut.

Coon's Corner is clearly to blame in this situation...

They were saying a possible slight fracture.

Is that like being "kinda" pregnant or "its not fractured, its just broken"......

In situations like this the better injury is a fracture because they heal pretty quickly....a 3rd degree sprain of the ankle usually involves evulsion (tearing of the insertion point of the ligament on the ankle bone) that usually requires surgery to staple the ligament back to the bone...

Regardless, he has tons to time to heal and rehab without the pressure of getting back ASAP....

It's like he has a little crack in the bone as compared to a complete break where they have to mobilize his leg, have surgery to place pins, etc.
