Overreacting & the 2018 Football Season

Everyone is going nuts because one player everyone thought LSU would get went to Bama.
Yes, it sucks to lose a recruit to Bama, but what do you expect? Alabama is king of college football. You might not like to hear that, but that's reality.
With that said, we do have a tough schedule in 2018. These are our toughest games.
Miami
@Auburn
@Florida
UGA
Bama
@TA&M
We could go 0-5 against those teams.. It would be difficult to go 5-0... But if we go 3-2 and finish 10-2 that will be a successful season.
Currently our recruiting class is ranked #14. We signed a lot of linemen on both sides of the ball.. Which we needed. I wish we would sign another RB and our QB situation is still questionable, but let's see what happens first. Everyone is crying and wanting to get rid of their season tickets and ready to fire Coach O (which if he doesn't get the job done, he should be), but let things play out first goddamn it.
In the SEC we have the 4th best recruiting class.. Right now, it's all in the hands of the coaches. As fans there is nothing that can be done. You can't fire O right after having a pretty good first year so if you are a LSU fan all you can do is hope for the best, expect the worse.. It's cool, if you don't think things will work out.. There is no problem discussing why you don't think so, but all of this "fire coach O" "I am selling my season tickets" is nothing but emotional reactions.. Let it play out!!!

One player? We lost like three today. THREE. The three guys that were expected to turn a mediocre class into a good one. So that leaves us with... a mediocre class.

From reading this it sounds like you have reached acceptance of mediocrity. This school should not have mediocrity with the resources we have. It's as simple as that. Stop trying to use damage control.

You list 6 teams but only mention playing 5 in the next sentence. Are we forfeiting the Bama game henceforth?

Exactly. The anger/outrage is not just because LSU missed out on one player. It's because it's just the latest in a laundry list of dumb decisions and poor results.
LSU did NOT fire their long time HC to rebuild a wayward program. They made a coaching change to hopefully push a very good program to being a great program once again.
Since that time LSU, under Ogeron, has:
1. Completed a 2017 season with virtually no significant progress from the last few years
2. Changed the offense only to want to scrap the new offense after 4 games.
3. Fired their OC and paid him $3.2 million to coach one season
4. Conducted no search whatsoever for a new OC and instead overpaid their TE coach, from the previous offensive staff that purportedly was the biggest problem, in order to convince him to take a position he didn't want.
5. With a HC know SOLELY for his recruiting prowess is in the process of signing one of and perhaps its lowest ranked class in over 15 years.

No, I am not accepting mediocrity. You are missing the point. I mentioned the meltdown over Surtain because it was what was going on at the time, but all I am saying is that we don't know how this will play out yet. Why throw in the white flag before seeing what happens.
Getting rid of Canada was not a popular then everyone was expecting O to hire someone who would make some type of splash instead, he promotes Ensminger.
Surtain flipped last night and we couldn't land Goodrich. We were only able to finish the day with two signees.. But my point is... Everyone is reacting to what they assume will happen. How many times has their been a meltdown because LSU wasn't able to land a big fish?
I am not being all "everything is rosy, let be naively positive", all I am saying is that what if things end up not being as bad as you assume? Why not wait to see how things unfold before throwing a fit?
