1963- my freshman year. Ole Miss Week. LSU Student Riots on campus. Started Sunday night 6 days before game. Lasted entire week till game night. Panty raids at the girls dorms! Cops, fire trucks, campus police could not contain students. Rolling garbage dumpster was set on fire and rolled down the hill at campus police which was located at bottom of hill across from NE stadium. Of course there was no alcohol involved!!

My friends and I had tickets to see Pearl Jam at Tad Gormley Sunday night after the Saints game, so we were up late again, yet again. I could count the number of times I got out of bed Monday on one hand.

was at that game and concert too. Quite a run for the weekend.

From Brettesaurus Rex on pg. 2. Couldn't agree more. Tiger fans were throwing so much stuff on the field when it appeared we had lost.

OP needs to update with this.

Had a friend throwing water bottles from the East upper. Our other friend with him says he kept looking for more bottles to throw after each toss.

Clarification: plastic bottles, not glass.

That ending was surreal. Les may have had trouble getting into the LSU tunnel if not for the UT flag.

will never forget this. It was one section and a few rows down from where I was sitting in the student section.

It was Auburn smoking cigars in the south endzone with Ole Big Ears, Tommy Tubberville.

Has the Tennessee game from 2000 been mentioned yet?

LSU goes to over time with Tennessee, the student section is bursting at the seems to rush the field. At one point they think the game is over and come over the fence only to be stopped but forced back not back to the student section but just out of bounds in the end zone.

Tennessee plays offense in OT with the LSU student section ringing the endzone sidelines. It reminded me of a lumberjack match from WWF.

1993 Tulane Sea of Bourbon & Coke Curley Hallman's era. Not many there to see it. We were playing Tulane, and a male Green Wave cheerleader took a flag and was running around the entire stadium. When he passed the student section, he was doused with cups. We watched him get back to his partner cheerleaders, and he seemed to enjoy it so he got a couple of buddies and they made the trip again. I was near the bottom of the student section, and as the cheerleaders were nearing the student section I turned around and saw throngs of people running down to the lower section, cups in hand. A sea of coke, crown, and other liquids came raining down on the cheerleaders as they passed with the Tulane flags.

I remember that. It was my freshman year right after we upset Bama. The Band used to be in the NW corner, so we had a great view of the incident. I think Tulane had just made their one score after the Tigers had gotten up big. I remember the cheerleader with the flag and I'm pretty sure Tulame's Gumby looking mascot was with him or them, too. I just remember that everything that wasn't nailed down in the student section hit those guys. It was hilarious.

Now that I think about it, it had to be 1994. That was Hallman's last year.

Too bad we no longer have the stadium dorms. There used to be some awesome sights, sounds, and smells coming through those windows.

No, it was 93. That was the big 100 year anniversary of the football program. Our first game was against Tulane, so that was the game where the school made a big deal. I'm also sure because, at that time, we still did home and home with Tulame. We went to the Dome in 94. I know that because it was one of only 4 games that year we didn't get rained on. When you are in band and have to put on a coat, sit there, and keep watching the beating, it sticks with you.

Fun fact- We were making plans to go to Miami for the Carquest Bowl after beating Tulane that night. The band, cheerleaders and other support orgs have to stay on top of that stuff since we always go on bowl trips. All the Tigers had to do was beat a bad Arkansas team, which was no problem. That was a forgone conclusion all week. I remember talking to my family about it Thanksgiving before heading back for the game.

Oops. That was as close as Curley ever got. The entire band was EXTREMELY pissed off after that game. New Year's Eve in Miami would have been nice.

Pssh, the next year was a chance to spend late December in slightly above freezing weather in luxurious Shreveport, La.

I was there for that one, too. We were just happy to get to a bowl.

The next year's Peach Bowl seemed like a dream in comparison. The Tigers have come a LONG way since then.

Yeah, he threw it into the student section and everybody ripped it to pieces. It was great.

I know that guy and have a great story about him from the same day. GameDay was in town and it was just when it was starting to get big (it was not completely crazy like it is now). Anyway, Corso made his pick and said the Tigers would get killed and would need a hurricane to come through in order to level the playing field. The morning part of the broadcast ended and I just happened to see Corso walking toward the Indian mound area in the street with another guy from the set trailing him as I walked back to our tailgate spot. He probably couldn't do that now. Anyway, out of nowhere comes John with a can of silly string (I have no clue why he had that) and he goes to spray it on Corso, but it didn't have much left and more liquid stuff came out than anything. He runs off and Corso (with a pissed off look on his face) says, "You little Motherf******!", while brushing off whatever was on his clothes. Swear to God. It took me a few seconds to process what I had just seen, but God did I have a good laugh.

Was probably one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life. I love shite like that.

I know, I know. Taunting is bad. Poor sportsmanship.

I don't care. It adds to the drama. It makes the game more exciting.

Worst call I can recall and it hasn't been called since. Must not be an issue.

Taunting by a punter as he runs into the endzone.LOL

Officials should be ashamed.

I was in the student section when Lewis flipped us off...in all fairness, everyone was pretty much flipping him off for a pretty abysmal streak that season. Kind of took me aback but I remember laughing my arse off.

Big EZ Tiger -- Yeah, he threw it into the student section and everybody ripped it to pieces. It was great.

I'm smiling to hear some folks remember my sheet-swiping!!. It was quite an adrenaline rush, but I can tell y'all the details if you are interested:

-- I spotted them coming over from around the East Side, 30 or 40 yard line (far-side), near the top (pre-east-side-upper-deck)

-- I told my friend Nick (nicklsu on Tiger Rant) that "there's no way they are coming over to the LSU Student Section to taunt us... where the f#ck do they think they are... Vanderbilt??"... But closer and closer they got, I was watching every step they made as they rounded the curve and got closer.

-- I mean, seriously, we may have lost nine in a row to Florida, including a couple humiliating games, BUT this was STILL the LSU STUDENT SECTION

-- PLEASE?!?!?!

-- We were in our normal seats, around the middle of the Student Section, maybe 1/3 of the way between the goal post and the band (band was in a different location in '97 than now); I grabbed Nick P. and said "back me up"

-- we scurried onto the lower ring walkway and I scooted through the Student Section; I calmly passed, eyes-down, so as to not let them know I knew they existed.

-- I got behind them and they didn't notice me, I was maybe 20 feet back... I trotted down to their location... they were standing on benches with an empty bench between them

-- I hopped over a bench and landed on the empty bench and amazingly, they still didn't notice me - I assume the 10,000 angry students were more on their mind - plus I think Nick was distracting them also, in front but not too close to cause them to react.

-- so now, I approached from behind and I had a big smile because I knew it would be EASY (since I was STILL undetected)

-- I snatched the sheet/sign from behind with every bit of strength I had, but it came out of their grasp so very easily (I thought they were clutching it tightly, but apparently not)

-- I started running, behind them and up... I got a huge lead as I bolted for the safety of the student section (that element of surprise is mighty advantageous)... I became aware of my insurmountable lead on them and I assumed they'd not be charging the students, so I turned around, taunted them and waved the sign at them

-- then I all but dove into the student section and tossed the sheet into the air and it was promptly shredded.

-- they next part ranks slightly behind my wedding day, graduation day, the final space shuttle launch that I watched from KSC countdown clock, and a few other special moments in my life... some huge guy puts me on his shoulders and walks me down to the corner of the student section and you guys all gave me a friggin' wonderful ovation... damn that was cool, thanks!!

-- back in my seats, a really cute girl hugged me and handed me a piece of the sign

-- a few months later, that fragment was hung around my neck for my graduation
