Do y'all think all of the folks moving out to Ascension and Livingston might be having a pretty major effect on attendance (along with everything else)? It's a pretty big deal to have to travel longer distances early and late to get to TS. Add to that the added difficulty the AD has thrown at tailgaters, and you've got a recipe for bad attendance at leaving early. Just a thought.

I don't think fans moving 20 mins away is affecting attendance!

No, I'm sure for the past 100 years or so people have regularly attended LSU games from farther away throughout acadiana.

That garbage schedule hurts more than driving distance.

We came down to the Chat. game we noticed that most of the places to eat after the game closed to early. We stayed to the end of the game and didnt have much to do after. We had kids with us so the bar was out. Many of the fans in the stand are from far enough out of town that things like this may have a
Effect.

S La myopia all up in this thread. Tens of thousands of fans are not from the BR metro are at all. Maybe half or more.

This has been beaten to death, but I will play along.
People didn't just start leaving BR and that hand is far to over played.

Home schedule, but it's been that way for the most part for several years.

Parking has gotten to be a huge pain in the arse.

Parking is expensive now.

Traffic, traffic, traffic

Yes, it sucks that people enjoy watching from home, but this is where we are. Times change and people change.

The economy is kind of soft.

That last expansion was stupid. Even before then you would have one game a year that the stadium was close to being full.

With all of the commercials, they are struggling to keep the attention of people watching on TV. The situation in the stadium is the least of the problems for college football.

That is huge. It's hard to stay engaged when play is stopped so frequently if you're in the stands.

HD TV, crap OOC sched, the cost (tradition fund), lack of free parking, and the post game traffic have killed attendance.

Why spend $300 for a family of 4 and be out from 2-11pm to watch them play the sisters of the blind, when you can watch it for free, see more, and have a bathroom or beer 20 feet away.

East Baton Rouge Parish is growing now. Building new homes in SEBR at record rates.

And people come from all over the state and MS to our home games. Livingston and Ascension parishes are big LSU fan areas.

Yes, you can, and for a much cheaper price.

I drive over from Lake Charles and drive back after the game. No way I'm doing all that driving just to leave early. I usually wait until the stadium is nearly empty to leave because you'll be stuck in traffic anyway.
