You must be very young. All he's done is ride the wave Saban started. How could anyone in their right mind say Miles is a better coach than Saban? In my lifetime, the list would start with Saban, then Mclendon, then Arnaparger, then Stovall. Miles would probably next, although from a pure coaching standpoint be can't say he's any better than Archer. If he had to coach the same quality of recruit that Archer had, I don't hold out much hope he'd have done much better. Miles is such a stand up guy, the kind that threw his players under the bus after that championship game debacle. Any scumbag that blamed that solely on the players and not on the play calling and coaching is an embarrassment. I saw the man with my own eyes say that the only reason we lost that game was because the players didn't execute the game plan correctly and that they would have called the exact same plays if they could do it over.

You had to be that guy...

The wave Saban started had crested and crashed by the time CLM arrived.

CLM took what Nick started and improved it, starting off with a class of only 13 committs left to him.

Nick handed over the keys to a 'vette with a flat and no gas in the tank, imo.

And not only did he fix up that 'vette and got it running as good as new, but he also built a two car garage and added a fricking Rolls Royce to park right next to that old nostalgic keepsake.

We went from a top 10-15 program under Saban for 5 years to a top 3-5 program under Miles the past 8 seasons. And the best is yet to come with the best coaching staff in the country and the 2012-2015 recruiting classes looking like clearly the most consistently top notch talent loaded this program has ever dreamed of.

The idea that Miles " simply maintained" anything in this program is as laughable as it is ignorant. :fearthehat:

I still don't like Miles but this SI story does appear to be a total hatchet job. This story has more holes in it than Bonnie and Clyde's getaway car.

Come on how can you say it is a hatchet job. A small percentage of the hostesses actually had SEX!!! No way that college girls would ever have sex unless they were paid!

I think Miles makes beyond stupid decisions. That being said, he has always come across as a stand up guy and a good man.

Oh right, because that's the only way to measure a program's success

Saban sniffed one National Championship Game in 5 years in BR, Miles has been in the mix for 4 in 8 years, and that's not even counting 2006 when we finished #3 but were out of the NC picture in early October.

I'd say that goes way beyond maintaing, but hey, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades right?

If only we had a coach that could be nearly as successful as such a perfectionist as you are at whatever it is you do.

Stick around though youngin, cause you may just get the kind of domination you're looking for over the next few years.

But I have the utmost confidence a baller like youself will still find something to complain about!!

COBRA KAI NO MERCY!!!!

Bulls on Parade

Victories not grades, not ho's, not drugs
Not need, just feed the football animal
I walk tha corner to tha rubble that used to be the Edmon Low library
Line up to tha lines symmetrically now
What we don't know keeps tha contracts alive an movin'
They don't gotta burn tha books they just remove 'em
While players bank accounts fill as quick as tha cells

Rally round tha family, pockets full of shells

Rally round tha family! With a pocket full of shells
They rally round tha family! With a pocket full of shells
They rally round tha family! With a pocket full of shells
They rally round tha family! With a pocket full of shells
