Orgeron is a great recruiter. Do not let this short, short stint kill your idea he isn't one of the best. Give it time and you'll see what the guy can do on the trail.

Recruiting as the head coach is a different animal than the assistant. Coach O is probably a barrel of monkeys as an assistant. But who is the adult in the room? Where is our Saban? Harbaugh?

I'm not saying I agree with the guy, but my friend is a high school coach and he said over the years that Orgeron is on a different level of being able to recruit. He is right there with Saban according to him. If Orgeron can somehow put it together as a head coach, then it'll be fun to watch.

Hes a great recruiter as an assistant coach but maybe people don't want to play for him as HC.

My guess is it is more on the lines of working his arse off for recruits vs others. Saban at this point has it made and can use the program better than anyone. LSU has a different angle and certainly an uphill battle vs that. I'm just saying Orgeron is a much better recruiter than people are claiming throughout all this bs. It's going to be fun to watch.
