By all accounts he was fighting for the 4th string spot with a walk on.

It might even be the case that he was looking at the 5th string spot. The fast rise of De'Anthony Thomas certainly precipitated this as much if not more than any mental fatigue courtesy of the Lyles saga.

Not only has Thomas proven that he's ready to contribute, but Ayele Forde (the walk-on) and Tra Carson (another true freshman) have both been impressing early. There was no guarantee that Seastrunk would beat out Forde at this point.

that's where he should have gone in the first place. him and RG3 would have torn it up together.

Yes, Dontae and now Lache are gone. Lache is believe to have immediate eligibility due to an ailing grandmother. Likewise, this does not hurt Oregon at all. With LMJ, Barner and the emergence of De'Anthony Thomas and Tra Carson, he was buried. It is believed that Tra Carson is having a better camp as well. He is 6'0" 227 and the only rb we have at that size. Lache was going to be our 5th or 6th option.

Here's the current depth chart:

Lamichael James
Kenjon Barner
De'Anthony Thomas
Ayele Ford
Tra Carson
Lache Seastrunk

He probably wanted a little more playing time. That's ok, he has seemed to be a classy kid even when all the journalists around have been a-holes to him. I wish him all the very best.
