i never understood why fans get worked up when opposing teams players seem confident.

would you rather them admit defeat before the first snap?

This....their fan base is just as excited and optimistic about the upcoming season! This game will be much closer than most rantards think!

Oregon didn't even block Fairley in the BCSNC game. They let him through on quite a few plays, I think they learned you have to block DTs in the SEC.

If you are going to attribute Fairly to the SEC as a "typial" d-lineman. I'm calling BS.

Oregon 48 Tenn 13......... Did you forget about that one? In that game that SEC d-line actually was "begging" Oregons offense for a breather. One of those SEC d-linemen actually told an Oregon o-lineman that if Oregon kept that pace he was going to puke on the field.......

So please, give me a break on the SEC stuff. Now I'm going to tell you the LSU d-line scares the hell out of me. They look like they should be GREAT. But please........ get a bit closer to reality.

and a freshman taking his first snaps at center

In 2007, I remember people saying that a certain freshman center from Florida was not gonna handle Glenn Dorsey.

That freshman took his FIRST snaps against LSU?

Really? He did not play any games before that?

If Tennessee had any depth at all they probably would have won that game. They were starting an insane amount of freshman and sophomores and that really showed in the 2nd half of a few games.

You do realize that Tenn had no depth and the pace of Oregon wore them out in the second half. I believe it was tied at half-time, so dont make it out like it was a complete beat down. Tenn had some talent, but just no depth...against a type of offense like oregon, it was just a matter of time. However, LSU has depth....and are better than the DLine of Tenn.....LSU wins this game 28-16.

agreed.

esp after we handled them in the Rose Bowl. The key to beating them is to force them to throw the ball downfield

Your lame arse team beat us by 9 points after completely dominating the trenches, and enjoying two unforced turnovers. Give me a fricking break.

No, we learned that Thomas needs to make his decisions quicker if Fairley is the DT we're leaving unblocked. Not all DTs are built like him, even in your badass conference, and if Thomas was more seasoned/composed we still could have gotten away with allowing him through.

You folks LOVE your moral victories.

I've seen "AU only beat us by 3 in the last seconds of the game" and now this!!!

Just so you know, Freak Johnson set the All Time High School career sack record.

Dude is explosive, big, and fast.

Just saying to watch him. I am just kidding around with the "bravado"

I do expect LSU to win. But, I am only playing around in this thread.

Maybe its because the player who was ahead of him graduated last year...

York has taken plenty of snaps at center that if Grasu was a concern, he would've moved.

Grasu is stronger, faster and more agile than Holmes from last year.

He is 6'3" 293, York is 292 and Clanton is 300 puonds. That has been the interior the entire fall camp. Golpashin has gotten some snaps but I expect more Clanton. We'll see though.

That game was 13-13 at half and they enjoyed a long weather break.

It goes both ways. Let's not crown Freak as Glenn Dorsey either.

The scheme that Oregon run's is dependent heavily on the offensive line blocking very well as a unit so it may take some time for them to gell as a unit I think its great we get them early in the year.
