Heimlich apparently did not make the trip to Omaha:

No you didn't. This is the third thread on it today, and about the 10th this week.

He removed himself from the team because he didn't want to be a distraction.
Yes it's been posted.

Literally searched his name and Omaha and a bunch of posts inside other threads came up with his name, but not that he wasn't traveling... I mean most assumed, but this is the first confirmation we've gotten

And they have gotten moved to the More Sports Board since this is not directly LSU related at the moment.

That would explain why the search came up empty...

Would disagree with admins saying it's not LSU related

I also just heard that Lange has been named starter for Saturday's game.

I'd definitely agree this is related enough to LSU to be posted here.

At this point, why?

There is no guarantee the teams will play each other in Omaha.

Same, I mean the odds of them playing at some point in the next two weeks is fairly high given how both teams are playing right now (even OSU minus Heimlich)

To me, Oregon State and CSF news impact LSU enough to be here... Especially something like this that would likely have an impact on LSU at some point in the CWS (even if that means LSU ends up not having to play OSU at all because they got bounced without him)

No guarantee but they're on the same side of the bracket so there is more than a decent chance. Any news related to either Oregon State or CSF's starting pitching staff is important enough to me that i'd want to know about it as an lsu fan.

Oregon State's Luke Heimlich asks to be excused from playing

The threads probably aren't being removed because it's irrelevant to LSU. They are probably being removed because there has been about 10 of them started, and every single one of them ends up the same way.

Correct but he still was dressed out and with the team

Reports today are he's not even going to Omaha? I have seen this posted earlier and just confirming. That news is different considering he was still with his team in uniform after he excused himself in the next game, which still left possibility.

We're in the same bracket. They're the number one seed. If we both win, we play in game 2. They are a favorite to win the CWS.

How is this is not pertinent to LSU again?

Your article is about the Super Regional. Not the College World Series. It wasn't known for sure if he would excuse himself from the CWS until yesterday i believe.
