“I have taken responsibility for my conduct when I was a teenager. As a 16 year old, I was placed on juvenile court probation and ordered to participate in an individual counseling program. I’m grateful for the counseling I received, and since then, I realized that the only way forward was to work each day on becoming the best person, community member and student I can possibly be. I understand that many people now see me differently, but I hope that I can eventually be judged for the person I am today. I’m so proud of our team’s accomplishment and don’t want to be a distraction. Therefore, I’ve respectfully requested to be excused from playing at this time.”

Day after molestation report, Oregon State pitcher Heimlich cheered by crowd when name announced.

Turns out, ol baw likes 6 year olds?
This changes things.

Do you really think this hasn't been discussed in the last 72 hours?

No excuses, but he was a kid and did a stupid thing. Paid his price and shouldn't continue to be punished...I think the kid should play.

I totally agree here. Im so sick of peoples lives being ruined after they have already paid for their transgressions. On the flip side though, it seems that if he wouldnt have let his offender registration lapse, this probably woukdnt have ever come up.

You and everyone who upvoted are disgusting. Molesting a 6 year old relative isn't "kids being kids"

And he failed to disclose his status when we went to Oregon State. His life wouldn't be "ruined" if he had just done what he was told to do in connection with his crime. You know whose life is actually ruined? That little girl

Exactly. The victim is also now probably around 13-14 years old having to go through more trauma from this because of the publicity of it all. So excuse me if I don't feel bad for the guy getting his career ruined because he served a slap on the wrist punishment as a teenager
