Think he'll take a pay cut?

You've obviously never heard the multitude of stories about O negatively recruiting against LSU while at Tenn?

O is a 'love who youre with' kinda guy.

I'm not an Orgeron ambassador whatsoever, but what did you expect him to do? Tell recruits to go to LSU while he was coaching at Tennessee? That's borderline retarded, guy.

The only place it seems that he's disrespected is in Louisiana.

nobody disrespects O. I've always liked him and want him on our staff.

But you've got blinders on if you think O was a good hire as head coach, for the reasons that have been discussed ad nauseam. But just because I feel that way doesn't mean I "disrespect" the man.

That being said, he's our guy, has done some good things since he was hired, and I support him fully and am excited to see how he does.

Didn't you hear, coach O is a terrible hire.

He's not a bad hire because he's Coach O. He's a bad hire because Alleva did a supremely shitty job in every aspect of replacing Les. At best he hit a homerun in spite of an emotionally charged, lazy, slightly bizarre coaching search. At worst he just made a 49'er's like move in getting rid of Harbaugh in favor of a popular D-line coach. Jim Tomsula ring a bell?
I hope O works out. I really do but Alleva should be fired for the way he hired him.

You have a point about Alleva, he appeared afraid of reaching out to too may coaches, thus extending the process. Though the jury is still out on coach O, he appears to be the right choice. This season should tell us a lot.

It really is amazing how Orgeron has turned into this fanbase's cult hero all because of a cajun accent.

No, what's amazing, is that people are stupid enough to believe that crap.

hahaha, alrighty then. I don't know how true that statement is, but it reminds me of a post last season on the coaches board about Jimbo Fisher. Whoever the poster was, claimed that Fisher was a shoo-in to become the next LSU head coach. this guy claimed Fisher loved LSU and Louisiana so much that he would coach for free just to get the job.

We all know how the Fisher for coach hiring process played out.

It really won't. We won't know what we have for 4 years or so. He has to bring in his players (especially at QB and O and D lines) and either find a way to hang on to his coordinators or replace them successfullly. Les was fine with Jimbo and Pelini. After Jimbo left it was a revolving door at OC with multiple firings and ending up with a guy that most of the fans hated. At DC, it was hit and miss, including the inexplicable Mallory/Peveto dumpster fire.

I won't pretend to have been happy about the hire. I was pretty pumped for either Herman or Jimbo. But O did what he said he'd do, retaining Aranda and getting a top notch OC. I'm optimistic. There's not another coach in the country I'd want to see win an SEC championship at LSU. It would be special.

LSU definitely has very passionate fans and as a fanbase are indeed amongst the top (THE top, IMO), but no one objectively think they are head and shoulders above all others. Bad start to you incredibly long rant.

Is that certain? We don't know any of that because no one was trying to hire him as a HC between his debacle at Ole Miss and him getting the LSU job. I do assume, if he is successful at LSU, he stays, but I am uncertain about any NFL aspirations he may have (don't think he does FWIW).

What else is new in the SEC, don't really care, there's too much to discuss at LSU.

Things going on in the SEC usually directly affect LSU, why would you not want to discuss them?

Orgeron now and probably always did bleed purple and gold.

I guess he was bleeding it back in 2009 when he had committed to Miles to come to LSU as DL coach, then jumped ship at the last minute to go with Kiffin to Tennessee, or can you not remember back that far?

It's one thing to revise history from centuries ago, but to do it from only eight years ago insults people's intelligence.

I don't get the "O loves LSU" narrative. I've heard him say how he visited LSU while at OM and always dreamed of coaching there. But when all things were equal, he chose Tennessee over LSU. He only chose LSU when he was out of work.

Hey ForLSU maybe you should check yourself before making degrading comments about others. It's "sit" not "set".Apparently you just got a GED.

Wasn't there all kinds of drama between O and LSU during Janzen Jacksons recruitment? Somehow his dad got a job or something. Been a while.

The first time i had ever heard ANYTHING about O loving LSU was when he became interim coach.

I think you're calling out the wrong poster. Your comment is better directed to the O "dream job", "loves LSU" posters.
