You have ZERO clue about how this all works. Hey If LSU smokes bama. I will be the 1st one in line to admit I am wrong. I hope THAT happens. Just going by what I have seen I would think ANY LSU fan wouldhave cause for concern that Bama may come in here and get an early lead [cause we may come out flat cause of the break] And then METT is forced to pass to try to get us back into the game. THATS SCARY.

The thing that scares me the most is that greatness appears to have become routine at Alabama and often times a team like that can get bored with the game. I have started noticing our players making world class plays on the field and then coming to the bench and playing games on their iPhones and not even paying attention to the game.

Our guys are tired of not being challenged and this can allow them to be caught sleeping at the wheel. Anyway, can you say fi'teen if we stay the course.

I agree, LSU needs to clean it up or there's no chance.

Its not Bamas fault that the teams have played sucked when Bama played them.

No, it's not. A lot of top teams around the country can argue this. It's not their fault, but you can't say they had a tougher schedule than us. If you believe having a tough schedule teaches your team to be stronger down the stretch, then the advantage is easily LSU's in that one regard.

You argued that the Bye Week would hurt us while Bama gets to go into a week after week rhythm.

Bye weeks can be good and bad, I think in terms of gameplan and resting up minor injuries can be huge. Yes, a team can lose motivation but this is Bama. What the team and our fanbase remembers most recently about Bama is Jan. 9th. I highly doubt our players will lose focus or rhythm.

If anything, the extra week is going to make them hungrier to get into that game and may manifest into an undeniable urge to get on that field and throw some hurt around. I assure you the fans will be hungry for this one as well. Something tells me you can't wait for this game already.

but I can also say the following without any doubt: come November 3, LSU's defense will be the best that Alabama has faced by a WIDE margin. Mizzou, Michigan, Tenn, and even MSU completely lack the sort of dominant defensive line that LSU possesses.

This is a no brainer.

but I am guaranteeing that we will not be blown in by Alabama at night in Death Valley.

I do not see a blow out as well. It will be a semi close game and I will most likely pick LSU to win. Just giving some variables that some may not be thinking about.

I feel better about being the underdog more so than anything else. This team, or offense at least, was definately reading its own clippings to a certain extent this season, and thought it would be a formality until 11/3.

I like this. But after a week of sitting around and getting OUT of routine, Its hareder to get up that 2nd sat. Its human nature.

For all we know, the only game on their mind is LSU too. They've been performing well in every game they've played. Big credit goes to what a Saban coached team normally looks like.

But I'm sure in the back of their minds, they know the only real game worth looking at is Nov 3rd.

Can't argue with that. We'll see how badly they want this one. Hope for the best:

Say what you want. The BIGGEST advantadge for BAMA is the fact we are OFF the week before. I hate BYE weeks

Uhh, have you seen Miles record coming off a bye week???

Miles is almost unbeatable coming off a break or bye week, unless he is playing Saban who is coming off a bye also, which ten becomes a toss-up. The extra week of rest will be invaluable for LSU and will very likely be the difference maker in the game against Bama. LSU has no problem coming pumped up for a game after a break. Have you seen LSU's OOC season openers the last couple of seasons? No way they come out flat after a break.

THIS has NOTHING to do with a game 8 against Bama.

In more ways then one.

But Saban and crew have THIS DATE circled as well. Don't thik for ONE second that Saban isn't smart enough to get his team READY for this game AT LSU. But watch how little EFFECT it has on them while they play MSU.

first of all there is no such thing as mojo. You will not lose your "mojo" coming off a bye week. the bye week helps in many ways, rest, and the fact that the players are just gonna want to go play football.

Pj you are one of my favorite posters, but i dont agree with you here. this year in paticular the bye week is badly needed. We will use the extra time (hopefully) to add some new wrinkles, mis direction or something. Bama does not have that luxury, they play state the week before us and if they are not careful the game could be tougher then they would like and risking injuries and such when they could be resting.

A&M could put a beat down on LSU if they are not focused Saturday.

We will be focused this weekend and then beat Bama by at least 3 TD's. They are overrated and have played a high school schedule. They've faced zero adversity and are being told they are the gods of college football. Its like Rocky after he won the crown. They are arrogant and soft, listening to their own press and have no idea what is going to hit their soft asses on 11-3!

I think we beat Bama by two touchdowns this year
I highly doubt we score two td's.
I think we can still win a low-scoring streetfight just like last year.

One should never underestimate the edge that revenge gives in a battle. That pure hate that flows through your veins can keep a dead man fighting on until the end.
Hatred, revenge, and fury will be what win us this game. It shall sharpen our wits, give that extra oomph, make every hit a personal vendetta.
This isn't just a game. This is a showdown. This is the gunfight at the Ok corral. This is the fight at Helm's Deep. And we are all that stands between the enemy, and the crown. The fate of college football lays at our feet.
We must strike a death blow to the red menace. We must end the crimson tyranny and set things to right once more.
This isn't a rematch.
This isn't a game.
This is payback.

A scewded stat. Last year both had byes. The other times LSU was a much better team

2011 - Both had byes and LSU still won

2010 - Bama was ranked #6 LSU was #10...LSU was not a better team. Our offense was worse than it is now and the defense wasn't as good. Bama was defending NC.

2007 - we were better than they were and we sent them into a tailspin that year.

The stat isn't skewed though. LSU under Les Miles is 3-0 against Nick Saban and Alabama after a bye week. Your argument was that our bye week is a huge advantage for Bama, I 100% disagree and gave the facts as to why. When Les Miles has extra time to prepare his team they almost always win the game. We all know the exception since some on this board have the date burned in their brains.
