Once and for all - why does the NCAA ban on external noisemakers not apply?

To cowbells? They're more annoying than distracting. Had to turn down the volume on the TV several times b/c the constant clanging was giving me a headache. Not like a regular loud stadium....must be the frequency of the cowbell noise compared to "human" noise. It just sounds shrill.
And before any Miss. St fan takes this as an opportunity to gloat about the effectiveness of their cowbells.......you guys have been clanging for years and still been the laughing stock of the SEC before Dak came along so it's not like the cowbells make that much of a difference to the play on the field.

No way they should still be grandfathered in. The minute they closed in the endzone should have ended the cowbells.

this is the biggest difference to me. I mean, when it's just yelling, people will stop when the play is not going on; it's not constant loudness.
But they ring bells the entire damn time. You don't get tired of ringing like you do with yelling.
It's annoying to the highest degree. I respect their tradition, but it's annoying.

The SEC and it's member schools agreed to allow it. They have to stop when the center is over the ball. They always stopped last night. The SEC can fine them and has fined them for violating this.

I didn't notice that they stopped once the LSU center was over the ball.
